This is the very first time an Australian band has been ambitious (or crazy!) enough to attack such an epic undertaking, and TLE are doing it for YOU. Consider this a big THANK YOU to all you dedicated folks who've bought the albums, come to the shows and supported the band over and beyond the past 15 years. Whether you're a die-hard fan of TLE's classic self-titled album, or the hectic riffery on The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating got you going or anything in between, there is something here for you.

Now, SEVEN shows in each city you ask? Well, the legendary first self-titled album will be get TWO shows in each city!

A note from Chris Cheney!

Lets get the formalities out of the way; Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and happy holidays etc.

Well then, what’s going on in TLE land I hear you say?

Chris has relocated to Los Angeles and is wondering where the California sunshine is. He met Paul Stanley who told him that Molly had fallen off a ladder. Get well Molly. He is now back in Oz for a month and reacquainting himself with Melbourne lattes and football. He is talking in the 3rd person...a lot.

Scott is living in Byron Bay and drinking Coronas with Kram the amazing singing drummer. Summertime has always been very kind to Scott and his tan is immaculate. He sports a healthy glow.

Andy is living somewhere on the way to Tasmania and when not playing his drums can be found re-enacting the scene from Phar Lap where the horse climbs up the sand dunes. He is not a horse but he is fit.

Pyramid was fun...to be honest I think we took a few songs to find the groove but we got there in the end. Andy was annoyed because we ran out of beer after the show. We are now tuning our instruments and bracing our livers for the one and only Big Day Out which I believe is the 9th time we’ve played it, the first being way back in 1972. Some of you may be old enough to remember that momentous disco-funk set we played that day. Andy Strachan was one such lucky audience member…he was five.

BDO have always been so supportive of us this will in fact be our 5th time, its gonna be big folks. It’s always THE tour to be a part of so we are honestly very pumped to be on the bill.

ARIA’s - we were very honored and humbled to pick up two awards on the night and to those of you who voted in the live category, thank you so much. We did think that we should have been nominated for Best Children’s Album for our Hot Potato effort but you can’t win them all.

Chris had a personal win though by getting to fulfil his life long dream of playing HP onstage with the Fab Four themselves. Aaah you shoulda been there...

So with that I bid you farewell and wish you all a happy and safe festive season and see you soon.

First up - nominations for the 2011 ARIA Awards were announced last week and TLE's stellar album The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating is up for the Best Rock Album and Best Group gongs. Everybody is truly delighted and we've got all fingers and toes crossed for a winning result. But we're here to ask your help - YOU can have your say in this years ARIA Awards too! The publicly voted awards are live now, and we think you should vote for The Living End for Most Popular Australian Live Artist - because they are, right?

The Living End October News

Welcome to the October News from The Living End.

Ok, lots of amazing things happening in the world of TLE. Ready? Ok, go....

The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating Tour finished up with a bang and a pow in Perth mid September, and we hope all who made it along to the shows had a helluva time. If you missed out or would like to relive the glory of these great big rock shows, we suggest sussing out some brilliant photos here and here, and reading the pretty ecstatic reviews here and here.

More shows where that came from actually, with The Living End ready to hit various cities with their famous roaring live show in coming months. Alice Springs gets the band this Fri Oct 07 for The Concert, followed by a one-off headline show at Penrith Panthers on Fri Oct 21 with buddies Calling All Cars (tickets here) Then it is Newcastle's Fat As Butter Festival the next day. Of course, the big mother of festivals for The Living End next year is the much anticipated 20th anniversary of the world's greatest travelling festival - Australia's very own Big Day Out! Announced last week, TLE join a wonderfully diverse line-up as Australian headliners. Check out all the artists here and get yourselves ready to snap up tickets by clicking here. Quite the slew of live performances have happened over the last month, in fact last week saw not one but THREE TV performances. TLE joined the the AFL Footy Show for their Grand Final special at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, playing Song for the Lonely and a impressive medley or all kinds of previous hits (watch it on Youtube here) Then they rose early the perform for Sunrise live in Fed Square, playing Song for the Lonely and White Noise. Watch that here. Perhaps most hilarious and impressive of all though was Chris Cheney's appearance with legend Suzi Quatro on Rockwiz. Chris on Rockwiz is always a treat, but this one in particular is very entertaining (plus Chris performs Heatwave with the band) Catch the full Rockwiz episode here.

Welcome to the September news from The Living End.

Ok friends of TLE, it is a big one this month. Here we go…

The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating Tour has finally commenced! After a lengthy wait, fans are finally getting their fill of The Living End’s legendary rock show, and for most people their first peek at songs from The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating played live. It kicked off in Brisbane with two huge shows last week, followed by some packed Sydney dates at the Enmore Theatre over the weekend. Plenty more where that came from as Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth are still to come. With such rarely heard live favourites as Save the Day and Pictures in the Mirror making the set list, these will be firecracker shows. Prior to the gargantuan tour taking flight, The Living End delivered one helluva lunchtime gig to eager students at Melbourne Rudolph Steiner School, with a special performance as part of triple j’s fantastic Unearthed High initiative. Winning band Skakadactyl put on a great show and TLE had a great time. Check out some photos from the gig here and Chris’s hilarious post-show wrap-up with The Doctor here. Exciting stuff.

Some of you may have been lucky enough to catch TLE’s triumphant set at the 2011 Splendour in the Grass. Well, now we are able to offer you a special look behind the scenes; Channel [V] hung out with the guys all day and captured all the stuff that goes on backstage for their special program “Hangin’ with The Living End” The show will be premiered on [V] next Thursday September 08 at 9.00pm. Don’t miss this!

Elsewhere, some BIG shows have been added to The Living End’s calendar in the past couple of weeks. Firstly, TLE will head to Kalgoorlie for what we think is their first ever show in the city. They’ll be hitting up Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre on Thursday September 15 with current touring buddies Hunting Grounds, tickets are here. The band will also make their return to Victoria’s Pyramid Rock Festival in December as the returning Australian headliners. This is a seriously amazing bill, check out all the information here.

The Living End August News - tour in two weeks!

Welcome to the August news TLE-fiends!

What a behemoth month July was, and things keep on coming. We don't know how we will fit all of the incredible things The Living End has been doing into one email, but here we go for August...

Yes, the long awaited and greatly anticipated new album The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating hit stores last month in a big way, making a splash on the ARIA charts, landing at #3 on its debut. The record was behind only Adele and Lady Gaga on the charts, so we think it is a stellar effort from the lads. If you've not wrapped your ears around this stunning sixth album...what are you waiting for? It is at iTunes here, available on CD here, and even on wax here. Oh, and don't you North Americans forget that both The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating AND White Noise are now available on iTunes in the US, Canada and Mexico. You can thank us next month once the new record has had some time to sink in.

Onwards and upwards with album-related news, and most excitingly, the album tour for The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating is just two weeks away! Some shows have now SOLD OUT with second and final dates on sale now in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Don't forget that the Sydney and Adelaide shows are licensed all ages so the little tacker TLE-fans can come along for a taste of songs both new and old. A very enticing prospect. Remember also that rockin' supports Hunting Grounds and King Cannons will be taking turns being main support on all shows, so arrive early to discover what the line up will look like! In other shows, The Living End wowed a wild and very big crowd at Splendour in the Grass late last month. Their Saturday night set was epic, and triple j caught all of the action live on air so keep your ears out for a very cool Live at the Wireless in the not too distant future. Check out some TLE Splendour photos from the Fasterlouder backstage studio shoot here.Last weekend had the guys visited Cairns for the annual TimeOUT Festival, another excellent show by all reports. You can suss some photos from that right one right here.

Now, we've noticed a distinct lack of video news in this news update, so we'll lay some on you now. Last Friday The Living End played some special tunes for Triple M Melbourne as a part of Friday Live at the Precinct Hotel in Richmond. Only 100 lucky fans won tickets to the live broadcast, but YOU can watch brand new single Song for the Lonely LIVE right here. If you need another hit of the killer cut that is Song for the Lonely, make sure you watch the official video clip for the song here. Song for the Lonely is available at iTunes now (click here) and with it you get the exclusive b-side Gasoline. Great deal!

In other video new items; remember the competition Take40 ran with the album launch where fans won the chance to ask the band a question? Well, the big day has finally arrived ladies and gentleman and what a HUGE day this is indeed. The Living End's brand new record The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating hits stores today. You can pick it up at all good record stores in Australia and at the Australian iTunes store right here. If something more elaborate is your thing, be sure to investigate The Living End Deluxe box right here, a pretty staggering amount of TLE stuff is available as a part of the pack.

We know that all you amazing international fans have been feeling a little neglected recently, so let us assure you that we'll let you know about European releases for the album as soon as we can. In the meantime, the record will be available on iTunes in the USA, Canada and Mexico by the time you read this. So what are you waiting for?

In live news, BIG things are afoot as you've made your demand for show tickets loud and clear. The first Brisbane and Sydney dates on the album tour have now SOLD OUT! But fear not, there are now second and final shows in both cities (as well as in home-town Melbourne guys) that are on sale now. All dates and ticketing info below as always. All shows are going to be a very good time as band pull out songs from the new album in addition to older favourites. Now, while we're on the subject of shows let's get one thing straight...

CONTRARY TO SOME REPORTS, THE LIVING END ARE NOT PLAYING WITH THE FOO FIGHTERS ON THEIR AUSTRALIAN TOUR. THE ENDING IS JUST THE BEGINNING REPEATING TOUR DATES IN SEPTEMBER ARE THE ONLY CAPITAL CITY CONCERTS FOR 2011. So why not come along and join TLE for a rockin' time on their headline tour? Phew, glad that is all cleared up now.

A note from Chris Cheney...

Hey everyone,
Just a quick note to say hi and to thank you all for the positive feedback on the song. Hi!

How about that album title huh! Controversial to say the least. Just be glad we decided to go with the shorter option. In all honesty the title is relevant in more ways than one...it’ll make more sense once you’ve heard the record.

We are so stoked with the songs and the job that Nick Didia and Brendan O’Brien have both done and we cant wait for y’all to hear it. It’s been one hell of a ride and as much as we want you to hear it NOW, we are on the home straight so a few more weeks wont hurt. Much.

New songs, new website, early TLE photos uncovered from the vault!!...good times ahead.

I also wanted to personally thank you all for your support and messages over the last month. Losing my dad was a terrible loss and it’s been a difficult time but your kind thoughts were much appreciated.

It means so much to us to have such a loyal and dedicated fan base that have stuck by us for so long. We are currently gearing up for Splendour and the September tour which we are so stoked about.

To say we’ve missed playing live is an understatement.
On that note, less talk, more gigs! I’m off to rehearsal!
