No battyboy, they played 13 a side, i repeat, 13 a side cricket. You do the math genius. I don't think you have any right to bash me when your Australian side actually lost, in an official ICC sanctioned game, to Bangladesh aswell. Stick that and a bunch of carrot sticks up your ass why don't ya'! :)

How was it not a game of Cricket?
Did they decide to play baseball instead?

The last 2 posts of yours in this thread are up there with the most unintelligable Ive seen
Marv From NZ

I wasn't "trying" to be intelligent Grumm'sy. You've seen my arguments or comebacks, they're as you said yourself "essays". So surely by now, you would've known that those last 2 posts are bullshit on toast and not me. If i was going to talk intelligent to you, you'd get lost, thus why i lower my standards just so YOU can understand! :p

Good win by the Windies in the opening game of the World Cup; though I expect that 240 won't be a very good total as the series progresses
Marv From NZ
03-15-2007, 12:52 PM
I'm not sure aye. That pitch turned quite a bit and even the pitch that the aussies played on last night turned quite a bit aswell. I reckon we'll be seeing alot of 240-260 scores in the big boys games. Fun game that Windies one. Should be a great WC.
Grumma
03-15-2007, 12:56 PM
Well Australia made 340 odd. Though admittedly that was against Scotland
Marv From NZ
03-15-2007, 12:57 PM
Exactly. That was some crap bowling from the Scots lol. Basically half volleys every 2nd ball.

Marv From NZ
03-15-2007, 01:45 PM
Yeah he's actually pretty little in real life aswell.
And Grumma, they were like flat sixes mainly, but a few flicks off the pads.
Grumma
03-15-2007, 01:48 PM

Marv From NZ

Yeah but I think overall SA have more weak links in their batting then what Australia do.
And we have more firepower in our bowling with Tait
Marv From NZ
03-25-2007, 11:01 PM
I reckon Tait's pretty over rated. ATM he's still young and just all out pace. He has jack all swing movement, or seam movement. Give him a few more years and i reckon he'll be up there with the worlds best.
And thank god Tuffey's out injured. Chris Martin was always better. He swings the ball better then Bondy for farks sake!
Grumma
03-25-2007, 11:02 PM
How much of Tait have you seen?
Cos he swings the ball an absolute mile sometimes.
He's just wayward all the time

I reckon Tait's pretty over rated. ATM he's still young and just all out pace. He has jack all swing movement....
Tait is one of the best exponents of reverse swing in the world at the moment and on his day he can be better than anyone....that said his days usuallly go for 50 plus off 10.... :p
Oh and Marv Shaun Tait swings the ball better than Bondy aswell
EDIT: haha don't worry bout it Colezy

03-26-2007, 01:09 PM
I reckon Tait is a bit inconsistent at times, but he'll mature through time. Although, that action does not look good for him in the long run.
Marv From NZ
03-26-2007, 01:20 PM
I'm sure he chucks the ball aswell. His action's very dodgy.
And pffft swings the ball more than Bondy my arse!! No-one swings it like Bondy! :p
FARKK....Lou Vincent's gone for the rest of the tournament. Thanks Bond! (He broke his wrist in training with a vicious ball aparently!) Looks like some people are gonna have to step up. Fleming's time to shine again.
Grumma
03-26-2007, 01:25 PM
Bond doesn't swing it that much
Marv From NZ
03-26-2007, 01:29 PM
Well Tait doesn't swing it like Bond. Like i said, he's just all out pace and no control. I'd love for him to face NZ sometime soon because we had a field day against him during the CH series.
Grumma
03-26-2007, 01:32 PM

^ Great bowling. See the 2nd wicket. The amount of swing on that delivery is ridiculous. PLUS THE CAUGHT AND BOWL!
Grumma
03-26-2007, 01:45 PM
I've seen Tait swing it more than any of those in ING games.
Especially in his first season. I can remember him pitching a full on on off and the keeper missed it down the leg side
Marv From NZ
03-26-2007, 01:47 PM
Oh for farks sake Grumma, Bond is a whole class above Tait. You know it, we know it, the cricket world knows it. Get over yourself! :p
Grumma
03-26-2007, 01:50 PM
I didn't say he wasn't . ..
Tait just swings the ball more and bowls 5-10km/h quicker
Marv From NZ
03-26-2007, 01:54 PM
Haha more like 15 km's quicker! And that's on average! Tait's just ridiculously fast. How anyone sees the ball i dunno....
Grumma
03-26-2007, 01:57 PM
at Bond's best he would've only been 5 or so clicks slower than him.
Marv From NZ
03-26-2007, 02:00 PM
Yeah but he would've snapped his back during the process lol! :p Him and his stupid injuries.
He bowls within himself these days. He uses the odd 150km+ ball to scare the batsmen, but he mainly operates between 140-145 now. For some reason he's even more dangerous and he's getting even more wickets then before.
Grumma
03-26-2007, 02:02 PM
Maybe cos he's slightly more accurate? Tries different stuff?
McGrath has proved that you don't need to be quick to take wickets
Marv From NZ
03-26-2007, 02:07 PM
Well he was always accurate, but yeah his slower delivery is very hard to pick. Ask Nathan Bracken lol. He's got him with that delivery about 5 times now.
Grumma
03-26-2007, 02:26 PM
Not that getting Nathan Bracken is anything great to be boasting about :p

Marv; why do New Zealand keep playing Franklin?
Marv From NZ
04-03-2007, 04:47 PM
Fudged if i know, but yeah he either majorly sucks and bowls half volleys all day, or he's unbelievable and gets a ridiculous amount of swing. He can bat aswell, he's a bit of an all-rounder, so that's the only reason why i see the selectors picking him. Get bloody chris Martin there! But Franklin aside, we're playing great cricket atm and i can't wait for the Aus. vs. NZ match! Alot of people are saying a trans tasman WC final is on the cards, i dont doubt them.
Grumma
04-03-2007, 04:55 PM
Yeah NZ have upped the ante at the right time
Marv From NZ
04-03-2007, 04:57 PM
Basically. I've never seen Bond so good before, he's unbelievable atm.
Grumma
04-03-2007, 04:58 PM
We'll see how he goes against the Aussies.
Him vs Haydos will be interesting.
And Gilly found a little bit of form to smack whoever we played last game around the park
Marv From NZ
04-03-2007, 05:04 PM
Yeah that will always be the test, but then again, we all know how much Bondy LOVES PLAYING THE AUSSIES! His record against them is basically unbelievable lol....so i have faith. He always delivers Grumma! And yeah, Australia are definetly playing awesome aswell, it'll be a fun match to watch that's for sure.
Grumma
04-03-2007, 05:06 PM
Most certainly will be.
I hope we go after him and Vettori.
If they got 6 between em but we took 50+ runs off their overs I'd back us to make a big score
Marv From NZ
04-03-2007, 05:12 PM
Yeah well most teams would, Bond's the 2nd best bowler in the world and Vettori's like 7th or something like that. If they play well, we tend to win our matches, but yeah if you get over them, then i'm not sure....it'd come down to big Jakey Oram and maybe Scotty Styris bowling those middle overs.
Grumma
04-03-2007, 05:16 PM
Australia should take about 100 off those to at least.
But cricket is a funny game.
I can still remember Michael Clarke taking 6-9 against Sri Lanka :p
Marv From NZ
04-03-2007, 05:17 PM
Obviously you haven't been watching those two bowl during the WC! :p
Their figures are probably almost on par with Bond's.
Grumma
04-03-2007, 05:20 PM
Yeah but clearly they aren't anywhere near the standard that Bond is
Marv From NZ
04-03-2007, 05:34 PM
Clearly. But i doubt Ponting and co. will take at least a 100 runs off the both of them, Fleming's to good a captain to let that happen.
Grumma
04-03-2007, 05:43 PM
Doesn't matter how good of a captain he is if they're going into the stands :p

hey Marv, you know brendon mcCullum??He married a chick whose younger brother and sister were attending my primary school at the same time i was. Brendon came over to our school and gave us a 6 hour training session..Top notch bloke even though he's a kiwi.
