First off, apologies if there's already been a thread like this that I overlooked during my search.

But anyway, the title is pretty self explanitory. Just list out your favourite guitarists :o

Mine would be,
- Jimmy Page
- Eric Clapton
- Kurt Cobain
- John Frusciante
- Stevie Ray Vaughan
- Frank Zappa

There's a few more, but to me they're not quite 'List Worthy'.

mmm yeah i remember something like this and it all just sorta subsided in one big argument about Billie Joe Armstrong's merits as a guitarist...

The person that inspired me to pick up the guitar and play was my Dad.

I gave it away when I went into high school. and can no longer remember how to play a single chord.

I might re-learn one day. I really would like to start a Primus style jam band.

I was in a pretty similar situation. At one point I probably could've passed myself off as a semi-decent guitarist. Then I turned 14 and therefore, incredibly unmotivated. I've tried relearning it all but I simply don't have the persistance to keep at it for more then a few days.

I don't know too much about guitars, but thats a pretty average list as far as I see it...too many names to mention that have been left off.
That's my 2c worth.

To me, it seems pretty arbitrary. Or, rather, formulaic: looks like they were filling quotas for new and old, and for various genres. I mean, how can Johnny Ramone rank at #17 when Brian May is #39? And Kurt Cobain at #12 when John McLaughlin is at #49? (Kurt himself would likely laugh his ass off at that!)

*sigh* But I digress...

Kid Setzer
08-08-2007, 12:55 PM
Yes that list is a bit questionable - no Brian Setzer..that's just outrageous!!

So anyway here are a few of my favs-

Brian Setzer
Chris Cheney
Ricki Wood (The Voodoo Kreepers - check em out)

Kid.

C'mon, Johnny and Kurt were some of the most skilled players we've ever seen!!!

bahahaha, sorry, can't say that without cracking up. And if anyone doubts Brian May, listen to Brighton Rock (if you haven't already heard this genius)
