Hello,
I was just wondering how us fans can go about becoming a moderator on the forums? I'd love to be a moderator on this forum i would do my job so well and use proper spelling and punctuation as well. So maybe an admin can get back to me as to how i would go about becoming a moderator.
Thanks,
Dwayne
Im guessing the Mods will stay the same (providing that they want to keep on moderating)
All that information will come soon.

You need to capitalise your "I's", better luck next time :p
But seriously, I had the opportunity to be a moderator after the last forum death because I got really involved and tried to contribute as much as possible to the community.
If now is the time for a reshuffling of moderators, let the excessive amount of polls begin! :)

I think that even if Mods don't stay the same as last time....like if some people don't want to do it anymore...the job should be given to people who have been here a while and have proven themselves as contributors to the forum.
Like with any forum, you can't just walk in off the (cyber)street and become a mod....coz people don't know you and you could really get up to mischief.
My advice to Dwayne is to hang around for a while and maybe you'll be asked by Admin to do it....it's what happened to me!

Thanks for the advice The Dying Start. And thank you for the sarcasm Kevin it was a nice touch to your post :p Ha Ha. Anyways I'll be a regular on here for sure, when I'm not extremely busy working on peoples Web Dev projects that is. So I'll log in a couple of times or so during the day and a few at night if I'm home that is.

I don't wanna be a moderator, thank you. :D
But really, this is a good forum. I've posted on forums in the past that were out of control and mean.

Yeah, I'm active on a few forums myself and a mod on a couple of them. I had a forum myself and the flaming and spam got out of control and then my forums were hacked thats what I get I suppose for using phpBB.

I had a phpBB is a bit of a worry sometimes!

Yeah probably because it's a free forums package but, It's still great though all the security flaws aside. I prefer IPB and vBulletin, I'm relatively new to vBulletin it's a very secure forums package from what I've learnt and seen and for some unknown reason I find the admin panel for vBulletin to be very very cool and sexy!

Eeek phpBB forums.. I havent had problems with mine yet. If I could afford it, I'd probably go with a different forum.

DP, not comin' back? Shame to hear.
Put me down on the list if there's going to be changes to moderators.

The only problem I can see, is that I say it how it is.. and some don't like that.

Moderators should ideally act impartially and sensibly. Personalities really shouldn't play a part.

I don't have a problem with mods expressing their opinion (even if its completely different from everyone elses/immature/just plain wrong or stupid), but i do have a problem with mods trying to control topics that they personally don't like, especially ones that a few people like and are of no harm to anyone or the board.
