I just recently returned to my second semester of college at Hofstra, in the cancerous heart of Hempstead, NY. In any case, my suitemate was flipping through the channels the other day and when he stopped for a second on MTV U (an actual good  mtv video channel received only by universities) and I heard a clip of something familiar. As soon as I realized it was TLE, I quite literally slid into the room like an excited schoolgirl screaming about how he couldn't change the channel andthat it was fucking Australia's The Living End on my American television! He seemed semi-horrified, but the point is that this video has been added to the regular (re:barraging) rotation of MTV U, meaning that, at least on the college circuit, the boys are going to get some awesome exposure in the US. I've already seen the video about 3 times. It's fuckin' sweet....yeah.

Bet you made a great impression:p . Wish I got MTVU, I'm not starting up school until the winter semester. That's awesome you saw them in the US, I'd scream too, ha ha.

You can watch it on the internet and Adeline is asking people to go on there and watch the WOYR video because the site keeps count of viewings to determine what's popular.

I never see any of their videos being played over here...it's kind of sad actually. I said something about the Living End and everyone's like... "Who's that?"...Psh.

Alright, the younger audience is a good place to start - especially the colleges and such. Anyone else there know about them?

I doubt they'd get airtime here in Canada. I find most people have no clus who they are. I think there was maybe 60 pepole in Toronto when I saw them, definitely not many anyways

yeah they are far from well known here. Either way it was the best gig I ever saw! I wish I had more chances to see them, lousy Canada being so far from Australia haha. Man I would kill to be in AUstralia for many reasons. I think if I ever visited I'd never come back

Stop being such a pussy and apply for a work visa.
With your spunky Canadian accent you will no doubt be married within a year and you will not have to return home.
Thankyou.

yes but, sometimes it's quality, not quantity. the fans were really into it. also, anyone watch degrassi? one of the characters was at that show. perhaps he puts a good word in for TLE with his fans once in a while...

I agree, I liked that it was a smaller show it was alot easier to get close and a better experience than a big show in my opinion. I do likes me some degrassi though, haven't seen it in ages cause I get one channel right now hah

I don't know but my British fmaily members all loved to watch neighbours which I believe is Australian? On a random note I wish I could go back and see the living end again dang it. Did you like the lashes? I only caught like three songs and HATED them. Plus the singer annoyed me prancing around like a douche and saying "you guys are all our friends now right?" weiner (no offence meant if you liked them hah sorry, I'm a bit strong minded wit hmusic I love and hate)

nahh i hated the lashes. we talked about this on the temp board i think, but my name was 'Sarah G.' then, so, no problems. and thankgoodness i was standing so close, everything the lashes singer said sounded like 'mfffmfffmfmff..hahha.' i was saved from his senseless bantering.

I'm a Neighbours fanatic. And no there is not an Australian "Degrassi"...although we got Degrassi and Degrassi Junior High back in the 90's here in Aus.
There was a similar "High School" type program on ABC here that was Australian...i can't remember the name of it...it was quite popular and launched the career of a few people...

I saw 4 TLE shows in a row and I hated The Lashes more each night. One of their guitar players was air strumming, not even playing. Their singer is one of the most annoying people I have ever seen, my friend hated them so much at the HOB, she left and never came back. I like I Hate Kate though, I would see them again.

Ah yes, The Lashes. Usually I'm all for leaving bands alone, even the shitty ones. But I must say I'm darn glad to see some mutual hatred for those bastards.
At the NY show, I ended up getting there hours earlier, so I met the rythm guitarist from their band who was quite a nice fellow so I could even say I was looking forward to their set a bit. Then, they were kinda shitty, but I bobbed along to the music and kept a relatively shit-eating (appropriate, no?) grin on my face most of the time. THEN, through a rather strange series of events, the lead singer ended up telling one of my good friends to shut the fuck up. Then it was on.
We spit on that motherfucker, he came into the crowd and danced with my girlfriend, i grabbed his mic, my friend started half strangling him because he was egging him on...it was good fun. He seemed embarassed. Security threatend us with ejection if we so much as looked at the dude again, so we kept to ourselves until TLE but...man. What a fucking crazy experience. Who asks for that kind of trouble as an opening band? And a shitty one at that. Ridonculous!

seriously? that's messed up.
I'm glad that these posts on the board reaffirmed that skipping the openers entirely, going to a hookah bar and showing up 5 minutes before TLE came on was the best decision :p

haha I wanted to punch the singer, the little fuckin' wanker. At least I only had to sit through three songs. Hell even if I liked the opening band I'd probably have wanted them to get the hell off the stage so i could see the living end haha

Correct me if i'm wrong, Aussie readers....but wasn't there a similar reaction to the band with a similar name...Lash...when they toured with Area 7 and TLE?
Pretty much if you're a shite band you need to have "Lash" in your name somewhere.

it certainly does seem that way. All I could think was how did these idiots get to tour with the living end. The singer kept saying shit like "we're so happy to be touring with the living end who will be our new friends now" and "ou guys are all our friends now right? So we can come back and play toronto again"
