At work last night we had a rather interesting conversation.

If you had the chance, would you go into space?

What about if you could never return until you have found another life form?

And more importantly, Did we really land on the moon. Out of the 5 of us that were at work, the conclusion was NO we didn't

I for one would like to go to the moon. Especially after seeing that Aussie bloke go to the International Space station, I thought yeah I could do that.

Nah, got no interest to go into space.

And the whole "did we go to the moon thing" is absolute bullshit. I can't believe all the hysteria over a documentary which was completely unfounded and had shocking scientific evidence to back up the point of view they were trying to solidify. Just goes to show how gullible ppl are really.

Yeah I'd go into space, although the laws of physics may need to be broken in order to get me fit enough.
If I could never return until I found life? That would stop me going seeing as I would be dead before we even reached the nearest star.

The moon? Yeah I reckon we did land on the moon. I haven't seen any (decent) evidence for the contrary.

Here's a picture of the Earth from the moon

Dropping a hammer and feather on the moon. That is the only place they can fall at the exact same rate because of the lack of atmosphere:

I can't believe how big this myth has become really...I wish ppl would investigate things a little further than simply accepting a viewpoint because it was presented nicely on a documentary.

you can sort of go into space now, if you want to spend 33000 dollars on it. Its not like going to the moon or anything but you get to see the earth in a different way.

I probably wouldn't do it.

People that think man hasn't been on the moon are ultimate fail-wits. Not only did they actually go there the first time, they've been multiple times since!

They've been a total of 3 times.

But what I want to know is, Why haven't we gone back to the moon? We have better technology and shit like that, but nah, not in the itinerary.

Space, to go on and on forever, until you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

Well, there's alot of reasons why we haven't been back to the moon. For one, its bloody expensive. Better technology = more money. Price of fuel = more money. Plus, we know alot about the moon as is, so going back there wouldn't really achieve anything - no more discovery. And I think cuz these space programs are government funded, the gov't wouldn't be too cool if the space people want them to splash money out just to send two men back to the moon to double check it wasn't made of cheese.

Mythbusters have a crack at this myth fairly soon. I just saw an advertisement for it on youboob:

Why redo something they've already achieved? I think one of the key points is probably occupational safe and healthy. Especially after all of the problems the astronauts had when they came back to Earth. They've figured it's a hell of a lot safer to just send robots out.

Same! :D didn't everyone?

And apparently they know more about the surface of the moon than the ocean or rainforests

It'd be fun to go to outer space but I'm not to concerned about "life on other planets" but i find the whole thing really fascinating.
