If we can count after the concert, when TLE came and visited our tent would have to be my favourite. I still can't believe they actually came out directly to see us, without us having to chase after them and find them or anything. That was so good of them, I'm still so unbelievably happy about that.

And for during a gig, I dunno really, sometimes you just get random moments during a song where everyone around you is so into it, the band are playing something amazing and everything just seems perfect. It's no particular song or anything, just sometimes you get a really special moment.
Or maybe that's just me. I dunno. I don't think that made much sense.

if the tent does count then I have 4 faves :p

I have 3 faves...
The awesome funk they played during Tainted Love solo-break-down at the second Palace gig last week
People pointing out to me that the framed drawing that I gave Andy the night before was on the mixing desk. I almost had a heart attack I swear!
Andy smiling and recognising me, during the first song at the same gig. That was awesome.. Probably my fave hahaha.

fuck that was one awesome gig!

-Scotty stage diving
-Meeting the boys twice
-Chris forgetting to do the beer bottle solo and sculling the whole bottle instead :p

Bec

Bahaha that would have been funny. He so should have done that at The Palace.
Funny about the beer bottle solo too :D

I liked the little acdc bit from this tour with Chris using the exscuse that he can;t sing that high. Must upload that video..

At coke live i was trying to get security to give Matty a photo of the tle graffiti outside 78s that Chris wanted to see, but security just kept yelling that i can't go backstage and i'm like "I don't want to, listen dammit!" but i gave up. Then later saw my bf waving to someone and i looked up and Chris had walked over. Security looked at him, then at me, then back at him and just moved and let me pass. I wanted to be like "SUCK ON THAT BITCH I WASNT LYING" cause i'm so mature.

I think i speak for most people when i say (if you get to the front of the barrier more so probably) the good moment is when you make eye contact with them and they look at you back and react to you in some way, wheter it be a smile or wink or something. Its something i guess you cant explain the feeling of unless you have done it. I got a devilish wink and smile which cracked me up, chris did that after i gave him the thumbs up...But yeah..i think you know what i mean

I dont really remember much from from TLE actually playing anymore.

Most of my memories are from the other stuff - like the picnic at the palace or when mirm, ed and I went around drinking a bunch in Brisbane .

Yeah like i don't remember anything from tle in Melb but i remember meeting Kylie ect..

There's too many moments to mention really!
My fave would have to be when they came out especially to us, the tent and Mel's awesome dolls.
Ah what a fantastic night that was!!!

Colezy
09-30-2006, 10:27 PM
My fave moments..umm. There are really many to tell you all!

I guess actually seeing them in the street in Launnie the other week was cool, even if we only got to say a quick hello to them.
Both of the Tassie shows were bloody fantastic and in my opinion, better than the May 19th show! :o (Could have something to do with the fact that I had the barrier for both tas shows!!)

As someone else mentioned, its awesome when you make eye contact with them.
Also, just the fact that they came back to Tassie would count as a 'moment'!! Well it was a moment when I first read that they were coming back here anyway! :p

I'm not sure if this really counts as a moment, but its awesome when you're the only TLE fan around you in the mosh who actually knows the words to all of their songs (the older ones especially) and not just the hits.

Yeah, that's all for know. My brain is tired :)

*edit - Seeing them live for the first time in 04 was a moment for sure. It blew my mind - big time.

Umm i'll be super boring and just say the first time I saw them. I was 13 and it was my first concert ever. I don't remember a whole lot but I remember being really excited and they opened with ICGYWIHG which was a favourite at the time.

I've only been to one, but the these were the best bits.

- When they brought Chris's guitar out, it's kinda weird seeing it coz i've seen it in lots of photos

- When they all came out

- Start (all) of Nothing Lasts Forever

And everything else.

I have many a favorite moment.

Including:

Scott telling me he's not sure who's more drunk, me or him

Chris telling ghost stories when the lights went out.

Hopefully I'll have more after this coming weekend :D

But for now, it'd have to be trying *not* to fall on-stage at the rooftop gig, by supporting myself on Scott's foldback amp. Being that close to the action was just surreal (there was no barrier).

I'm nto sure what mine would be, but standing next t the stage at the palace gig the other week was pretty sweet and then Andy shaking my hand afterwards. And the Fest hall one was pretty good because of teh crowd. I also liked my first TLE gig when i saw e-boogie forst done. I'll think for a bit n then post mty final decision.

you can think in your head....can't you??

for me meeting the guys twice of course stand out, but besides that at Homebake many years ago during Tainted Love, Chris came over our side to play a bit - i think my heart stopped and i got a cramp in my hand from holding too tightly onto the barrier. That was pretty cool for a little school girl with a monster crush on Chris :)

Getting to hear a full version of So Lonely was pretty spesh too!

well i've been to two tle shows...and i'd say tonights was better of the two...hahaha i noticed that scotty unintentionally humps his bass it kept me pretty damn entertained and very much envious most of the night hahahahaa....so i'd say me giggling at that was the better part of the night..if we exclude the music haha..

After much thought i think that my TLE favourite moment was probably at the gig at the Palace the other night. First of all, they played Hold Up. I was hanging out for that song for ages and i even got bearky the whole barrier to write "hold up" on their arms and hands. Second of all, I was standing right next to the stage (beyond the barrier) and on several moments during the show i was less than a foot away from Chris. Third of all, Andy and Scott both looked at me a few times during the gig and i showed them the Hold Up on my arms. I don't know if they saw it or nit but they look at me and thats the point. Fourth of all, when i left the stage and went into the mosh, the crowd was really good and they were really getting into it. I dont think i've seen a crowd that enthusiastic at a gig before but they all made me pretty happy and feel really good about the night. Fith of all, after the gig when the guys were packing up, Andy shook my and and we exchanged a few brief words before i had to go. That wole gig was my best TLE highlight as i can't narrow it down to a single thing.

Amen to that! There's nothing like it in the world. I just die on the inside.

Performance wise, I love when Chris uses the beer bottle as a slide and I'll never get tired of watching Scotty or Chris standing on the bass and playing. That's just classic TLE. There are so many awesome moments, though.

Lol, and Kev, you should crop out the pair locking lips in the background of that pic.

The first thing that comes to mind for me was when TLE sung Happy Birthday to me at the HMV instore in 2003. That was pretty awesome...even if they did call me Kirsten haha!

Let's hope they get it right in Canberra!

Like other people have said, when TLE came to our tent was pretty frigging amazing.

Umm... screaming lyrics at Alina and Bec while we're on the barrier was pretty good fun.

How the boys just started jamming in the middle of Tainted Love at the second Palace show.

Oh and when Chris made eye contact with me during Nothing Lasts Forever, and they all kept looking at us during the show too. It really does make you feel special, like other people have said. :)

All of it really, obviously, but those would have to be some of my favourites. :D

My favourite moment was seeing them play the greatest setlist of ALL TIME at the Amplifier in Perth. Not only was it their best gig I've ever seen, but I ended up meeting 2 of my best mates there by complete chance! One of whom happens to be the drummer in my band :D

In London 2006 I was thinking the set was over after they played "Second Solution" and got a little bit disappointed. But then they just moved on with "E-Boogie" and "West End Riot". That really blew me up!

Another nice episode was last year in Nottingham. I was standing outside the club with Yvonne and talking to Andy - not believing my luck. But then came Scott, saw us and before I recognize what's going on he's shaking my hand not knowing who I am and saying "Hello". A moment I'll never forget.. :p

During soundcheck at the Festival Hall gig (the first one/dvd one), I was leaning against a car cos I didn't want to sit due to eating too much subway (jeans were getting tight :p) and the wall of festy hall was cold, so I decided to lean against this car parked next to where we were. Next thing I know, Scott comes up and scares me by saying "Oi! Get off the car!". He was only joking, thank god! He sounded so tough when he said it lol.

I shat myself when I saw who the car belonged too :p

That was also the day I fell in love with Andy's car!

Other moments include the first time they looked at me during a gig (:p), Andy and Chris both remembering my name at the longnecks gigs,

Fighting a big buff scary guy for Andy's sticks and winning!! hahaha

Various Cheney lame jokes and quotes.

The chats that I've had with them at the longnecks gigs. Didn't get to ask them the juicy questions I have for them (if May still hasn't done this, then there is little hope for me! lol), but I wasn't scared to actually talk to them this time and was able to have some good convos!

stupid question - what sort of car does Andy have?

in addition to whatever I wrote at the start of this thread i need to add:

Chris catching my eye several times during Soundscape.

And getting a stick for the first time at the same festival :)

jeeeeeezus christ. 8 or 9 shows... including some backstage fun.... i can't even BEGIN to count up all the freakin' phenomenal amazing unforgettable moments, lame jokes and setlists. My most RECENT favourite is sitting centre stage during West End Riot on a beautifal sunny day in st.kilda, looking up and seeing all these faces almost on top of me. That was farken' AMAZING.
Haha... i also recall me and Ally just looking at each over and over almost in tears or something, overwhelmed by how incredible the Tainted Love cover was at the first of the two all ages shows at the Palace in '06.
Oh and the next nite too, that was probably my favourite TLE show. Oh, but maybe Festy Hall was... or... oh... fudge it, i'm goin' to bed!

Hahaha, nice one Nicole. :p

OH. Another moment. When I saw Chris walk out of the venue, look at me, and then head into the bus. I was the only fan there and I felt like a ding dong for not saying hi the first time. The same thing happend with Scotty, I just gave him a smile. And then I saw Andy come out for a smoke break a total of three times with me just standing there, twice with me and once with my mom around. (This was before she knew who they were!). Andy started walking towards us and then turned around and went back inside.

"Is that one of the guys in the band?" (Talking about Andy)
Heart attacking/freaking out/nervous/ready to tackle-Andy mode Chelsea: "Yeah...don't say anything!". :o :o

And after I met Chris (Scotty decided to sneak by when I was talking to him - I didn't notice :p), he promised me a group picture with them after they finished soundcheck, and it happened! Wee.

Getting front row with no one willing to steal our spots was great too. The caressing of Scott's sexy bass was cool, my friend and Scotty having adorable eye contact for a good minute, Chris splashing me with Corona, meeting Sarah (i_heart_you), standing right in front of Andy, and wanting to steal Scott's shoes. Chris' funny quote after the show about how Australians "sound fucking weird" in Canada.

my favourite moment was going to my first concert ever(TLE of course). i decided i wanted to play double bass. mum was not impressed.

her mum was not impressed either.

getting chris to play "oh darling" at the rooftop radio gig.
was on the creepy 2day fm guys show, looks like a creepier rove lol

ended up climbing the speaker and handing chris my phone with the message "play oh darling and growing up" cause it was too loud to scream. he obliged and after forgetting the words the roadies came on to finish it off. easily my best tle experience.

Deadcat Kaye, Is that from the San Remo gig? If it was I saw you standing out there and I could only think "Oh that really sucks!"

My fave moments also came from the same LN gig where Chris responded to my drunken slur of "Nooo! They're poofters Chris!" refering to Silverchair. Then having the people around me pat me on the back for it :P

Also at the end of the show getting one of Andys sticks then having to fight off about 10 people trying to grab it off me. Great times!

Oh yeah and Uncle Harry!!!

Deadcat Kaye, Is that from the San Remo gig? If it was I saw you standing out there and I could only think "Oh that really sucks!"

bahahahahaha Yes, yes it was me, and besides from the window rattling..the sund was PERFECT.
and besides the cold-ness :p

Well I suppose it wasn't all bad then but we travelled from Sydney to be there so if it happened to me I'd have been busting through that Window :p

I think the thing I regret most from that gig was sitting opposite Chris and Andy at the bar earlier in the evening and not even at least saying G'day!

mine was Arns and I driving to bathurst after my last hsc exam in 03 to catch the boys. later that month i managed to get myself to coffs for another gig. when the boys start recognising you and youre still in high school you dont know wether to celebrate or feel like youre completely obsessed... i think the ink job sealed the deal.

getting chris to play "oh darling" at the rooftop radio gig.
was on the creepy 2day fm guys show, looks like a creepier rove lol

ended up climbing the speaker and handing chris my phone with the message "play oh darling and growing up" cause it was too loud to scream. he obliged and after forgetting the words the roadies came on to finish it off. easily my best tle experience.

growing up was for arns! that was a great night!

ahhh my favourite tle experience.
probably being front row for the tweed heads show oct 6th and having chris pour beer on us after e boogie then he saw us lick if off the ground and like laughed and then went off again. that was fucking cool :P
also same gig scotty decided it would be a good idea to stage dive onto me lol
so he prett much crushed me and then said "sorry mate! haha fuck yeah stage dive" and then the we crowd surfed him around the people and then he got back on stage.
also on that night scotty got ontop of the pa which was really fucking tall and played bass up there. it was epic as.
umm i also got chris guitar pick ahh soo happy that im tall and i grabbed it before anyone else! woohoo!

ahh i cant think of anymore awesome stuff like that except you know that awesome feeling when they actually look at you or they wink or something. thats happened a few time which feels awesome!

Elyse

That was a pretty damn cool encore :D. I was at the front of the stage for that one, haha. Also met Elyse and DP earlier that day at the HMV signings, where Elyse showed off her ink :p

My first TLE gig, after finally being pulled into the live music scene on the same day as our year 12 muckup, was the Friday Enmore gig on the FHOI tour. It was fucking awesome. And I'm not the only one to think that - Chris had it listed in his bio on the website as being his favourite gig too :D.

Elyse

that signing was great apart from the screaming high school girls (ergh). and DP had a tv interview based on his hair. The Enmore gig is up there with the best, the crowd was awesome that night.

My favourite moment was actually the last time they played sydney big day out. Someone threw a water bottle at Chris, and he caught it, drank it and then said 'what else ya got'. So good. :)

Just found Sean behind me, but to the left a little. Noticed his flanny sleeve and thought "hmmm, that's a familiar shirt!" :p

Colezy
