I know this has been done before, but this is kinder different.

Are there any good tabbers here? Because i would really like to learn the version of E-Boogie Chris plays on the Festival Hall DVD. There is an E-Boogie tab for the version he plays on the From Here On In DVD, but thats not the one i am looking for.

Heaps of that is improv dude, so if you can learn the main riff and play solos through the song its fine. You don't wanna play it just like Chris, add your own stuff in there. That's what I do anyway. There isn't a tab for it, but until a tab comes out try working it out by ear, it's really good for your musicianship.

see this is why i didnt want to do a tab for it in the first place, because he changes it all the time. Then every year or so, you get people asking for a tab for "how he plays it now." sorry guys, not gonna happen. not from me anyway. someone else might be nice enough to tab it though

Alright then. I guess i could improv most of it. I just really want a tab for the very start part. Like everything he plays before the e: 7-0-4-0-7-0-4-0. You know what i mean?

I tried working it out, I can get something that kinder sounds like it, but it's not to great. Would a tab be possible? *puppy dog eyes*

the way i do it is kinda chet atkins style..bah probly not..but yeh i use my thumb to pluck the 5th n 6 th strings and alternate with pulling the rest of the strings with 3 fingers or watever....timing is crucial young padawan

I'd tell ya to find the Chet Atkins tab and modify it, but Chris actually plays it sorta different from Chet. It doesn't have to be perfect ya know, so long as it sorta sounds the same.

Anyway i got the tab and its awesome. But by intro i though you meant the very very start part. before the 7-0-4-0. Ah well, its an awesome tab still, i'll use it.

someone on here showed me the tab. i just worked it out other then that its like easy.

Its important to note when he starts the Chet Atkins intro

All the tabs ive seen you guys use is wrong, and it saddens me (kidding)
Ill only tab it if you get desperare BUT
He uses 2 strings, not one, the e and the B

Which part sounds wrong because i play it with the e boogie they did on the channel V bus before west end riot and it sound pretty good exept for these parts which i cant work out atm:

that last lead up part im not really sure about it. oh and that part where it goes B A G# F#, they dont do that but i rekon it sounds good =D. and you have to have delay but its like half a second so it should sound like this *dum-chika* lol :D

The bit thats wrong is having seen cheney do it and listeing to it, when he starts the Solo chet atkins thing (the thunderstruck sounding thing) which we really should give its own name

Anyways, all the tabs say its on one string like thunder struck, But its actualy On both the e and b strings and the second pull is an open b not an e

really?

im pretty sure he doesnt.

i was like 1m from him at tweed and it didnt look like it. but ou might be right because he uses the pick and if it was all on one strig you wouldnt need to use the pick. you could just do it like thunderstruck.

i'm at work and don't have a guitar around to try it, but i think using the open b string would sound odd. he's alternating between the scale notes and e

i don't think he plays it just on the e string anymore, using the b string for one note of each position, but he picks the open e again after playing it

i remember hearing an early version of eboogie somewhere i think it was during the MA era,it goes right in to the main riff and theres a drum solo before the bass solo, and theres no beer sliding or skulling.

hhah yeah i have since found out by watching the dvd that he uses the full E instead of Em. i love it how he goes to the E#9 or whatever that jazz chord is and then plays it there. it sounds sick.
