Now how did I know you'd have something to say about that? :p

I'm currently debating whether it was worth the effort...I had a weird dream and now I've been up since 6am, lol, oh well, least I'm not nocturnal anymore...for now.

What ya been up to/doing today then, mel?

Turns out I hit the hay at about 3, after collapsing at about 2.30 and watching South Park.
Today I'm going into an art-collective type thing again, the main woman person wants to see my l33t skillz so I'm gonna show her my devart, hope it's good enough!

I hate that it took atleast an hour and a half of snooze to wake me up this morning... longest ever.
I hate that my alarm doesn't seem to wake me up anymore, maybe because it wasn't on my shelf rattling my desk, haha.
I hate that I have to leave in half an hour

I want to group all the fabric crap away from the drawings, but I think I'd need to buy a subscription to do that. Hm.

oh oh and Nicole I did! At the cook off I asked him what happened to it, and he said it went on tour with them!
but when I asked him where it was at the moment he said it was lost in all their gear and crap. Haha

Hope everything goes well with the artsy-thingo but imo, you should have no problems at all. ;)

At least your alarm still functions...I was grumpy one morning when I woke up and practically threw mine across the room...that shut the bloody thing up real good.

I love that I'm in a good mood.
I love that the sun is out but isn't about to fry me; time to head outdoors for a bit and enjoy it methinks.

I hate driving when there's so much water on the road - especially when it's nighttime because you can't see the big puddles that make you aquaplane :( plus I WANT TO TAKE MY PUPPY FOR A WALK but she smells so bad already from the rain that I don't want to make it worse :(

I've seen dresses and skirts made that way before, so it can definitely be done... method I'm not so sure on however! I guess it'd be careful machine or hand sewing. If you wanted it to flare out you'd best invest in some fatter ties too, rather than skinny ones, op shops are great for ties. I have quite a few and all were under $2 haha.

Seen a long hippy shirt done with paisley ties years ago back in canb.
But stripes & skulls could work.

Just unpick the seam at the back, then iron it flat, and stitch them together. Chuck in a zip. Easy!
Could put darts in if required, and maybe use one as a waistband?

But Mel's right, fatter ties will go further. Oh and remember, ties are cut on the bias, so pin them when you go to sew to stop them moving around as much :)

I walked into the laudry which links to the front door, and it's a bloody sauna in there! The wind doesn't makes things any better...I've actually got the dog inside with me for a rare occassion because its too hot for him outside.

I hope we don't lose power tonight.

I love that I have free reign of the house for two weeks while my folks are on holiday down the coast. Whoop! :D

wow, the current temperature in melbourne at the moment is beyond ridiculous. 46 degrees is only 4 degrees less than the official record in australia which was taken in the middle of the desert where only a couple of bozos live!

It definitely makes me appreciate brisbane's predicable weather. It might be boring being 30degrees every day for half the year but at least I can still wear jeans in that, haha.

so, melbourne: I hope you are still alive.

I hate that its 39.5 here in canberra
I love the fan that is blowing cool air all over my legs / lower torso (its on the floor)
I love that i'm not in melb, with its 44.5

The closest weather station to me is Melb Airport which got to 46.4, Melb 45.7. Avalon got to 46.9 at 3pm.

Surprisingly, I was hot, but not melting until maybe an hour ago.
Now I'm sweating about as fast as I'm getting liquid into me. Ick.
Bring on the cool change.

Oh and Beth msg'd me before to go look outside - like walking into a furnace - the whole sky is grey with ash. Very eerie.

I was just saying to Dan on FB, that I moved to Melb cos of its rainy reputation. Sure they have had some warm summers, but I'm not used to this.

The humidity is bad, but I have to say, this summer hasn't been anywhere near as bad as normal - touch wood.
I guess we're a little more used to it, and more prepared - every school & office building (bar some) is air conditioned, houses are built to retain cool air, whereas Melbourne houses tend to be brick & retain heat.
Having said that though, generally there's a difference between dry heat & humid heat - I'd rather be in 30 degree dry heat than 30 degree humid heat - but I think once it hits past 35 degrees dry heat, I'll take my "cooler" humid heat any day!!

Apparently the rain is heading south to Central Queensland, but still not quite far enough :( You know those tunnel waterslides? I think they should build one starting up here, with a HUGE catchment area and have it go all the way down the coast of Australia with taps along the way into places that need it. It'd work ... somehow :p

We discussed it in one of my engineering classes, and the infrastructure needed to pull something like that off is hideous. Not to mention the energy it'd chew up.
But you'd think there'd have to be some way to do it...

The whole 'apparent temp' thing that the bureau uses, doesnt seem to sit with how I respond to the weather. I know they use a few different things to get their figure, but I wonder what else would have to go into the mix to arrive at what I feel. Like I wonder if physical fitness/fatness, natural acclimatisation, relative proximity to the ocean breezes etc, play a part?

I catch the train so many times that you can tell when the plain clothed ticket cops get one.

There'll be 3 or 4 of them, and they'll get on the 1 carriage but different doors and continuosly look at eachother.
They still do that "i'm high and mighty" sorta look so it's real obvious.

I had some pringles last night...they were terribly salty. Bleh!

I hate that half-way through the night I completely freaked myself out...I woke up and was trying to get comfortable again and somehow rolled onto my arm, which was completely asleep...basic reaction was; WTF? WHY IS THERE A FUCKING ARM IN MY BED??!?!! ARRGGHHHH!!! After several seconds of freaking out, blood returned to my arm and everything made sense...was a very weird experience, lol

It was the most shit scarey thing that's happened to me for a while, haha. Literally, I tried to 'throw' my own arm to try and get away from it and it wasn't until about half a minute of beating it into the bed that any feeling came back.

I love that I'm finally getting a haircut today- it's gotten to the stage where I just can't put up with the length anymore! :pinch:

That's happened to me SOOOOO many times!!
Once while i was still half asleep I didn't realise how heavy my arm really is until i lifted it up and it fell on my nose.

But srsly, how fuckin freaky is it?

Kacky
02-13-2009, 11:07 AM
That's happened to me before. It's happened so many times that when I know I can't move my arm, it's asleep, so I pick it up and shake it around until I regain some feeling.

It happened to me once... I thought I saw a massive rat (I've never actually seen one but anyway) run in front of my face and I was looking around on the floor for it and couldn't see anything until I saw my arm hanging off the bed, I picked it up (it is surprisingly heavy) and went back to sleep, it was pretty weird

Colezy
02-13-2009, 11:23 AM
They do become heavy don't they!!

Makes me wonder how heavy my whole body would be to move if I was asleep/passed out/had no control over muscle movement type thing.
