I'm definitely not the kind of person to study during the semester. I did do more work when I was on campus than I do now that I study externally (I say 'study' loosely), but I still usually just do the big cram right at the end. I think it works better for me.

I'm really bad. I don't actually read any of my texts or reading during the semester, unless I need it for my assignment or exam.

Hehe, too true, for I am one of those people.

So I have my first exam today, which is great so I can get it done and forget about it.

Bad news is that I came down with a cold on Monday and have still been pretty bad since...stomach sickness, one continuous headache that won't go away, nausea and a lack of sleep have left me seriously unprepared for this exam.

Oh and so I heard the swine flu has hit the residential halls here at Monash Clayton...hell, I could have it for all I know! XD

I want to be back home!!!!

I just get my study on eeearrly because I know what sort of learner I am. Ie the: if I try to learn to much in a short time i'll just give up and fail kind.

plus when I started uni again I was doing it for funsies. I sort of have another goal now but enjoying it is still a big part of it.

HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE that my dad took me to the guitar store, helped me find guitars, listened to me play two gretsches, talked to the guy working there about gretsches, tried really hard to remember the name of the guitar i liked, talked to me about how awesome the guitar was and how nothing compares to a gretsch and then informs me that i will not be getting the guitar and calls me spoiled and self-indulgent for even thinking such a ridiculous thought.

In an age where boob jobs, liposuction, tummy tucks and botox are now commonplace it would seem that women have found a new part of the body to worry about... their vaginas. Vaginal cosmetic surgery on the NHS has doubled in the UK over the past five years and in the private sector there has been a 300% increase in labiplastys, making it the fastest growing form of cosmetic surgery in the UK. In this honest, witty and compassionate film Lisa Rogers tries to find out why more and more women are considering vaginal surgery for either aesthetic or cultural reasons. Through meeting a variety of people including her friends, family, girls who are considering surgery, sex therapists and plastic surgeons, Lisa tries to understand why girls as young as sixteen are requesting this surgery on their labia and in doing so will not only reveal how British men and women feel about vaginas but she will also be forced to confront her own feelings about her own vulva. pfft, it was on tv last week. Spoilers are totally fair game now I reckon. Put put it in white writing if you're that worried.

once again I really really hope something disasterous happens and they don't end up making another season. And especially not with him in it at all. It would just make the whole last episode less effective, I think.

SCRUBS NEWS!!

Scrubs boss Bill Lawrence said his cancellation-defying comedy would undergo an extreme makeover in its ninth season, and, man, he wasn’t kidding. When the show returns next winter, the action will shift from the hospital to the classroom and make med-school professors of John C. McGinley’s Dr. Cox and Donald Faison’s Turk.

“It’ll be a lot like Paper Chase as a comedy,” Lawrence tells me. “It’s going to be a different show. It’ll still be life-and-death stakes, but if the show is just ‘Scrubs’ again in the hospital with a different person’s voiceover, it would be a disaster and people would be mad.”

Of course, Sacred Heart won’t go away altogether. Although J.D.’s old stumping ground no longer will serve as the show’s base of operations, the students will occasionally rotate through its halls — and bump into many of its familiar faces.

In addition to McGinley and Faison, both of whom are expected to be full-time regulars alongside a quartet of newbies (most of them playing students), “Scrubs” vets Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and Ken Jenkins have agreed to make guest appearances. (Neil Flynn has a costarring role as Patricia Heaton’s husband in the new ABC sitcom “The Middle,” so his name-challenged Janitor will be MIA.)

“Med students in their first three years have to spend anywhere from 10 to 50 percent of their time at a hospital,” Lawrence explains. “And that’s when you’ll see some of the (original cast members). Continuity-wise, Sacred Heart will still exist with those people still working there.”

But Lawrence insists “half the cast, if not 60 percent of it,” will be comprised of freshmen, one of which will be more recognizable than the rest. “(ABC) is really after us to hire a big name,” he reveals. “So one of them will be fairly famous.”

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31452834/ns/entertainment-television/

Okay, the idea is sort of growing on me now. If its a whole different show with a different location and stuff it would hopefully work out better than the same show with some other character doing JD stuff.

Its a bit silly that they have suddenly decided to make turk and dr cox teachers but I think that situation will work out better in the long run.

oh, and here's a lolworthy quote from bill lawrence The one promise I would make to people is that if this does suck, it won't suck in a lame fizzle-out kind of way," he says. "It will suck in a huge way. It will really, really suck.

it says the new season will be different. It will be set in a med school, mostly. Dr Cox and Turk will be professors there.
They will probably go back to the hospital sometimes but it will mostly be at the school. So its more like a spin-off than a 9th series of the show.

Caity have you sucked it up to watch the finale yet? :p

That's what I'm planning on doing tonight, I think. STUDY IS OVAH so I can. I've watched up to about 3 ep's from the end.

Thanks for the clarification, also :p

I and most people thought it was done really well too. My favourite part was the home-video style fantasy sequence. I thought the song matched perfectly with the whole thing and it was just really awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

So many things to laugh about. I giggled & cried the whole way through.

My ears ring for yonks after a gig. Depends on the venue and volume obviously, but it can be anywhere from 12 to 48 hours later.

after the first time i saw TLE mine rang for nearly a week, but i'm pretty sure that was from Red Riders because their sound quality was shocking and way too loud

Ben reed
06-21-2009, 01:31 PM
yeah, my ears don't ring much/for long after tle gigs because the sound is always just right but all the bands yesterday were fucking loud screamo with too much bass and harsh snare drums sounds, not to mention the fuckin angry guitar sounds
and i have a ticket to todays show aswell, not sure if im gonna go but if i do, i'm bring ear plugs!

Colezy

Mine don't usually ring for too long after TLE either. But after a week of going to the Longnecks gigs, I couldn't hear properly for AGES after...like a week or so after. Worth it though :p

My ears ring for ages if a band are really loud... Saw a cover band last night and my ears are fine today (Not a big fan of cover bands, they just happened to be playing where I was going, they were alright)

I hate mouth ulcers, they hurt.

Second that.

wow, I have terrible hearing but I never get tinnitus after bands. I sometimes get it randomly though.

Although sometimes I feel like I can hear better the morning after some loud music. It might be some sort of illusion or maybe the vibrations are shaking debris out my ears or something? This sounds ridiculous but I swear it has happened!

I realise this is the incorrect thread but it's 7:17am and I've had 4 hours sleep and I really don't give a crap.
I went to Cog last night because Karli had a spare ticket and I decided to go.
It was good.
She's trying to set me up with one of her other friends now. His name is Ben. We did some shifty shoulder nudging. That may have been because Karli kept "falling over" into me.
I want to sleep.

Second that.

I get them all the time. The worst was when I had around 16-18 of them at once, it hurt to eat anything or sometimes talk.

I have two right now, I just covered them in salt, it stung like crazy and after I wiped it off it started bleeding, really no way to stop them. They always have to run their course. I have protective covering stuff that numbs the location of it so you don't have to deal with it.
