i want to go to rehearsals already so that it means i get to go home sooner

i want my lines to be learnt for me - it's easier to say them when i'm on stage though - much easier than it is trying to remember them when i'm in bed!

Our director said to us once that if we were having trouble learning our lines to write them out, that when it's in your own writing it's easier to remember. He was right. It's always good when you're in a hurry to learn lines.

That how I study now, writing out all my notes and such all over again. It takes forever but it works.

That how I study now, writing out all my notes and such all over again. It takes forever but it works.I've been trying that recently with studying. I think it's true. Especially with tutorials. You remember more rewriting (or redoing) stuff than just reading over it. Although, having said that, I just jumped back on the computer after another 10-minute study session, for probably a 30-minute break.

why do you keep biting the inside of your mouth Cam - that's WEIRD!

i just read them like a book every now and then, and i read the lines above mine so i know when they're comming.

i hate doing a test when you haven't revised :( i've learnt my lesson, now i have to study :(

*M!
11-02-2006, 03:52 PM
that helps some people Rhiannon - i'm more a listen by learning person - the last play i did i recorded all my lines to CD and that worked really well!

it hasn't happened like that with this play :(

i'm a learn by doing type person in this play - that way if i get it wrong the director corrects me - and i listen to him saying it, repeate it to myself, and yeah... helps a bit...

i love the play i'm doing that i don't have any lines for!

:D

i thought that'd be harder to remember just actions (bacwards is odd) but surprisingly, that's not the case!

That's dedicated! I struggle to be without Internet for a few days. I'll probably have withdrawal symptons at Pyramid :p Also, I *sort* of need the Internet for my study to download answers, etc. But I guess that's a bit different to being on forums ...

Even without the Internet, I'd get distracted though. I should probably go to gym or get a massage instead of Internet though.

I can't belive how much food Mum bought. Actually after 23 years I'm kind of used to it. But really. I couldn't find room to put the stuff away so Mum said put some in the laundry. I said where and she said look and you'll see where. It was already packed. We've got two fridges full, and cupboards in the kitchen, laundry and dining room packed. I think we're about ready to open a branch of Coles.

Also, I *sort* of need the Internet for my study to download answers, etc.

I used that as an excuse to get online last semester during exams. It always turned into 'I'll just check my emails', which became 'I'll just visit LJ'... then it was forums, then it was just a little while on Yahoo messenger... before I knew it the whole day was gone and I'd be beating myself up about it. It's probably why my marks fell below my usual standards. That's a mistake I wont be repeating again.

This girl in my year got 14/80 for her History practice exam. 14!! Do you even realise how horribly bad that is.

For my Politics one, I got 85/100....it's so gay, I hate essays and the essay is worth 40 marks. I got 29/40 for the essay.

But I only lost 4 marks for the short answer and extended response questions for the other 3 sections. So if they excluded the essay (I WISH!) I would have got 56/60 haha. I'm scarrrrred. I should study :(

I love seeing different types of bands. Went to see Cosmic Nomads at Cornish Arms tonight. They're progressive rock. Have a keyboard, organ, tamborine and the usual instruments. Was very interesting! Didn't stay for Uncle Chunk or Upper Hand because first band played for one hour. Earlier in night some transvestite (sp?) stood up on the bar and sung a couple of bad songs (were meant to be funny). Towards end of Cosmic Nomads, some guy went up the front and starting dancing extremely crazily. Funny night! :D

We have to watch Billy Elliot for an essay. here's my question:

In what ways is Billy an outsider, and how does he find acceptance? How does the film protray this?

yeah, pretty good question, Erin's one is harder, (specially for screenshots)

her's is: Billy's father says "Boxing or football is for lads, not frigging ballet!". What ways does the movie challenge gender roles?

(i originally was going to do that question, but it was too hard to put into an 800 word essay, so i'm sticking with my current pick)

Comic Book Crush

my english essay at the moment is to watch at least 6 movies in a specific genre and write about the gender stereotypes used in the movies. x.x we watched movies in class but we have to watch others at home on our own. One of the other classes had Billy Elliott as an example haha. we watched pretty woman, first wives club, ever after and bend it like beckham. ... i think that was it. x.x

If you really want a fringe with your hair Mel, you're gonna have to keep it straight. Coz if you don't, you'll end up looking like something straight off Neighbours circa '88.

I love that in the basement there is a mini supermarket here because they stock up with food for the whole ski season and there's always stuff left over.
I love free food.
I love that i can have as much as i want!
I think Cam would like it here.

I love but hate reading friends' blogs. On one hand, I'm really happy that they're so happy with life at the moment. But on the other hand I resent that I'm not. Ah jealousy.

I hate having to sneeze and it not wanting to fricken come out already.

Ah jealousy.I hate that sort of thing too. You can't resist reading them sometimes, then you find out stuff you didn't want to know. But if you're nosy, you can't stop yourself. :p

I just have to post this....some of it may not make sense, but you'll have to check the NZ SOE shows section to understand the first bit.

Yeah i know aye! Tonights show wasn't as good as last nights one, it wasn't the band being off or anything, it was just that the crowd was fairly young and i dunno for some reason it didn't feel as EPIC as the Kings Arms gig, but heck i'm not complaining, it was still one killer of a show, and one i'll always remember for the rest of my life. Heck i got to talk to the boys after the show for a while, so that was rad. I won't write a proper review(s) till tommorow, but here's some quicknotes about the Kings Arms and Studio gigs:

Kings Arms:
* Sold out, jam packed, as Chris' said to me after the show tonight "one of the hottest gigs i've played in a long time. I lost it towards the end cas' it was so fucking hot!" Never seen so much sweat in my life really.....
* Scott and Andy played topless for all but the opening song.
* They played another E-Boogie sounding bluegrass song which merged into All Torn Down, i've never heard it before.
* They did alot of improvising and doodling.
* Set was about an hour and 45 minutes long. Similar, if not exactly the same as the other NZ shows setlist.

Studio:
* Not quite Sold out, but still almost completely filled.
* Played exact same setlist as last night BUT.....added UNCLE HARRY!!!! last second to the list during the encore because the whole crowd was shouting/requesting it all night, was fucking one of the best songs of the night!
* There were a few "Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!" chants, and the band played off it. Chris said we weren't Kiwis.
* Chris and Scott said alot of SHEEP SHAGGING and in general SHEEP jokes to the crowd. Twas' funny..... for e.g. Scott: "How does a Kiwi find a sheep in long grass?" Chris: "How Scott?" Scott: "Quite good thanks!!!!" *Crowd bursts into laughter* Was funny as hell, and then Scott ran off stage in the fear that he'd get shit thrown at him for saying it. Bloody magical.
* I chatted to them after the show towards the back of the venue. Twas' cool. Chris mentioned to me that he thought that most of the bands that played Warped Tour this year "Were fucking shit aye! Too much of that screamo/emo shit." Andy confirmed to me that Guyfawkes is indeed banned in Australia due to bushfires or someshit, i really wanted to know. Scott almost died of heart attack, when a super loud firework right next to the venue went off, his facial expression was priceless. Andy said they're gonna take a month-2 month break at the begining of 2007, they're gonna "Eat, drink, get fat and sleep".

I'll write some more shit tommorow. That'll do for now.

i know a person who knows someone that says you go through like two pannels of other judges BEFORE you get to the likes of kyle and crew. So these 2 other pannels pass through a mixture of really good singers, and the really crap ones, bear that in mind ok?

LOL i'm recalling the show last week at The Studio for KSE/Unearth. There were so many metalheads, neo nazis, punks and bogans it wasn't funny, that'd be a great crowd to say it to Grumma, especially since you're pretty bogan/metal loving yourself........I'm pretty sure you'd get murdered.
