Easybeats tribute album

Australia`s best have gathered to pay tribute to one of Australia`s best. Neil Finn, Ben Lee, the Living End and Iva Davies are just some of the acts featured on the forthcoming `Easyfever` Easybeats tribute album.
The Easybeats were one of Australia`s first international successes. Song like `Friday On My Mind`, `Sorry` and `Wedding Ring` influenced people like David Bowie and Rod Stewart.
The Easyfever album will also include one previously unheard song `Motherfigure`. The song was written by Harry Vanda and George Young in the 70s and was meant to be the first single from Stevie Wright`s never-released third solo album.
For Easyfever, Wright has re-recorded the song with Jimmy Barnes.
“The Easybeats are an integral foundation stone of Australian rock and roll,” says Albert Music CEO Tim Prescott. “As a band they really were the first truly `Oz Rock` export; and as songwriters, performers and producers, the band became the genesis of so much amazing Australian music - with Harry Vanda, George Young and Stevie Wright in particular all writing many hits, and George and Harry playing a hand in the careers of some of our greatest artists (including AC/DC , The Angels, Rose Tattoo, John Paul Young and of course Stevie`s solo career). Despite all this history, well known to music industry pundits, with the passing of time, The Easybeats and Stevie probably haven`t received the public accolades, or broad recognition, that they so richly deserve”.

“Therefore to have this tribute album, featuring these extraordinary homegrown artists, playing Easybeats songs, is really a fitting testament to The Easybeats, and their long standing influence as songwriters and performers of some of the greatest songs that shaped our industry. Albert Music is really proud to be releasing “Easyfever”; and we thank everyone who has been a part of this project.”
The album will be released on October 4.

yeah, i've never heard it either I don't think. I thought Ben Lee was certain to get She's So Fine, but it's even worse news! I don't mind Ben Lee, but blergh choice for that song.

It's strange why certain bands miss out on tribute albums,
a new Cash tribute [All Aboard: A Tribute To Johnny Cash] is coming out with some of the best rock'n'roll/punk bands going around these days i.e The Gaslight Anthem. But there is no Social Distortion "Ring Of Fire".

I think it's funny that whenever a tribute CD comes out all the bands that are on it go on and on about what a huge influence they were to them... I can't see the Veronicas having any influence from them whatsoever...it is just a credibility stunt for them. I think most artists on this one do probably draw an influence but there are always those few that cling...

I wonder what aussie band will have the next tribute?
ACDC, midnight oil, cold chisel have all been done... any others?

In future Ihave no doubt there will be a Silverchair and Powderfinger and I think after all the tributes Grinspoon have done they might too... haha

Presuming he uses iTunes, i think htye have an external database for tagging mp3's. Thus i'd say it's an error on behalf of whichever party runs the mdb.

That's the same one that Winamp uses by default - I think I remember having a similar issue with the Dili All-Stars track when I first played the single on my computer, but I just re-tagged it manually.

Just found out that Chris is also featured on the DVD about the Easybeats which looks to be a companion to the album... I think this aired on TV at some point, but not sure if it did or not (I know there was definitely something for the Cold Chisel album which never got released but was on Channel 9).
