Tle W/+44?

Hey all, glad to be back! Been gone for a while (used to be Riot Rocker)

Anyway, I was quite happy to see that The Living End were playing at The Rave in Milwaukee on Dec. 2 for $12, but was a little dissapointed when it changed to TLE opening for +44 for $22, they dont seem to be on tour with them or anything, so what's the deal here? im a little confused :(

aaaaaaah, why?! Im sorry, but TLE is not worth a 4 hour trip just to see a bunch of stupid emo kids asking for +44 the whole time. See, ive never seen the guys live and have been waiting for a Wisconsin headline show for some time. Maybe a trip to Chicago's the answer? :confused:

The only problem i have attending this show is my ride might wanna go see Reverend Horton Heat instead. See, Reverend Horton Heat is a GREAT live band, ive seen em 5 times and even had the liberty of eating supper with The Rev himself in 2003. But i've been waiting to see TLE for soooooo long its not even funny, TLE it'll be one way ot another ;)

I quite like plus 44. well what ive heard anyway. i reckon it'd be great to see them and tle together. who cares about the emo kids, just hit them if they annoy you. they're all really skinny and weak ive found lol

Mark Hoppus and especially Travis Barker are absolute stonkin legends...that'd be a great show. I wish i lived in the US!

Trav has a broken arm though, but apparently he is/was trying to learn all the +44 tracks one handed...if anyone could do it, he could!

A&A aren't overly bad, but their songs are pretty much a load of wank. It's pretty much just Blink 182 wrapped in cotton candy.

Box Car Racer was much better. As was Blink 182.

I heard one of their songs on Channel V just before, though. I probably wouldn't have paid it any attention if I hadn't already heard them mentioned here. *shrug* I'm indifferent about them. They weren't spctacular, but they didn't have me reaching for the mute button, either.

well, it looks as if im shit out of luck. I dont think my ride's interested in driving 4 hours to see 2 bands she doesnt know. I burnt her a 'best of' type cd with all their best songs and she loved it, but doesn't seem to interested in seeing them open for a band she knows nothing about . . . :(

maybe i should fly to australlia next big headlining tour they do there?

Arguements about Blink, Angels, & 44 aside, it shouldnt be any surprise that TLE would play with them.
It was my understanding several years ago that the guys were all rather good friends. To the point that Scott was invited to one of their weddings.

I saw +44's first show ever, they were pretty good. their single is too soft for me, but their other songs are better. Watching Travis play live is incredible.

nah man what happened was....

Blink were planning a north american tour at the start of 05' and everyone agreed, everyone wanted to do that tour. Later on Tom started saying that he DIDNT want to tour anymore and that he was burned out. So they had a meeting Tom and the manager sat on one side of the room and Mark and Trav on the other and so their manager (not sure if rick devoe was still their management) basiclly did all the talking for Tom saying that he's 'over playing music' and needed a brake. Not long after that Tom said he needed six months or more off. Tom wanted to run the band his way.They wanted to help out for the tsunami victims after christmas and they started to have a rehearsals and talking about a new recorded album. Tom wanted to do his recording at his house and wanted to record the record seperatly. mark and travis refused. Then tom got his ph numbers changed and got the mangager to call mark and travis and tell them not to call him. after 12 or so years and all their touring and 7 albums Tom didn’t even call to quit the band. He had his manager do it for him.

that was a summary of what mark said in an interview :)

^ yep and thats just the tip of the iceberg really, it goes so much further than that. from when they broke up, going right back to when boxcar racer was around. but yeah cant really be bothered going into it. and to the person saying it was mark and travis' fault, please dont make those sort of comments if you dont know the full story :)

not really into blink anymore still enjoy their songs but not into them as much as i was when i was like 12. I bought the angels cd didnt really tickle my pickle and will prolly buy the plus 44 cd dont know

Yeah, I'm the same. I remembered being really into them years back, more recently I grabbed their greatest hits seeing as how as a kid I never had the luxury of bying CDs of bands I was into... I was just unimpressed. There's a few songs I really like, but as for the rest I really have to be in the mood to listen to them, which isn't often.

I've got AvA, and i can listen to it, but it's all a bit wanky for my liking.
