acdc!
crowded house!
the easybeats!
midnight oil!
chyeahhhhhhhh
Biased TLE fanboy opinion aside, I really think self titled should be in there.
Other than that it's a pretty solid list really. Good to see radio birdman in there, IMO one of the most underrated aussie bands, ever. Same with you am I.
Young Modern? WTF?
If they had to include a Silverchair album, it shoulda been FrogStomp.

What the hell is Young Modern doing in that list?
I mean, I like Silverchair, but no way should it be there!
*edit - oh my god. I was only like 15 mins too slow in posting that :p

INXS. woo hoo

Agreed on all counts. Otherwise, it's a fine set of albums...wondering who exactly determined the list but eh.

Disagreeance.
It was fun when in 1995 or whenever but its dreadfully immature...probably because they were kids.

Yeah, there might be a more comprehensive article somewhere but its pretty annoying when things like this don't even offer any details about how data were collected.
At least rolling stone usually offer a list of '500 people who voted who are more important than you and therefore theyre opinions counted towards this list and yours did not.'

Obviously a Survey in which the public can get their honest opinion in would make it more realistic. Remember the My Favourite Album thing a while back?
The Self Titled album got #45. Not bad at all.

Top 50 then aye? Not bad...this reminds me of the Top 50 Aussie albums review The Age did a while ago...think Oil's (10, 9, 8, etc) came in at #1 but TLE didn't get a mention in the official list. From memory, the panel was a conglomerate of musos and general music industry people; 'the people that know more than us' basically.
On the plus, one of the paper's music reviewers or someone had S/T at number 5, so yay for some recognition.
The Self Titled album got #45. Not bad at all.
Not good either, seeing as second solution/pos was the highest selling single of an entire decade.
I'd say if Daryl Braithwaite put 20 tracks of The Horses on an album it would have cracked the top 20

It sounds like most popular CD to me. I agree with a lot of the choices however.

I think it would make it a whole lot worse. You just have to listen to any stupid popular countdown on any stupid radio station to see that.

Sometimes popular music isn't that bad.

Sometimes...it's the fact 95% of it sounds exactly the same that gets me.

Uh... so do a whole lot of rock/alternative groups. Besides which, if you like the sound then luckily for you, you're going to like the other 95% of it. Sweet.
Gah, I hate the anti-pop/anything remotely mainstream brigade.

I love pop music but I think there's definitely a difference between good pop music and terrible stuff that usually ends up on popular countdowns.

:D Less than two weeks to go for me. I remember when my "days til Stevie" countdown was in like...the 70s haha.
I'm going alone though :( But don't fret, maybe I'll pick up a sexy Stevie-loving guy under the age of 30.

I'm hoping he brings one of his children and I will find them and do them (his older children, not his little ones) and I will sort of fulfill some young-stevie fantasies.

On the subject of pop: I love thriller. I'm listening to it right now. I wish I lived on another plane of existence where mj didn't go crazy :(
