Yeah, I reckon it'd be the only way I'd Michael to another festival - but then that'd be $700 gone! But then I don't know if I'd want to do the VIP thing by myself. And even if I did, I'd leave to be in the TLE mosh anyway :p

And I didn't realise that it had moved locations. I'm not a huge fan of the showgrounds, the first MSFest had the best location I thought.

So loving that they're playing this and not falls!

Yeah, the first year was good...2007 was ok..I didn't have any complaints anyway. Plus it was REALLY close to where my mate and I stayed :p

Depends on who is headlining. I'd say that cos you've got TLE, Gyro and The Presets, then yeah this one will sell pretty fast!

Okay, so I know how lame this is going to sound...

But, I really really want to do the VIP thing. But we really really really can't afford it, cos it'll be getting close to $500 (tix, acc, petrol, merch) just for one crappy festival (and for the first time in years, I really really don't actually have money). And if i'm gonna spend $500 on a show, i might as well have flown to Melby/Sydney for the WN tour (an actual headlining proper gig). And I have to be honest, besides the fact I'm over festivals and the sound of avoiding the masses, lounging on deck chairs and sipping cocktails sounds awesome, the main reason is cos I want to chat to the boys in my home state. And if I'm realistic about this, they're playing last, so chances are they're not going to be in the VIP area anyway. But if I don't buy the tix then they'll definately be in there (and will be super jealous of Nicole if they are :p ). And then that just pisses me off even more, cos by then it'll be 11 years and even though it's super lame all I want to do it have one good chat with them, then maybe I can let all this go.

So...I was originally going to go to this while I visited my relatives over in Launceston. But now I'm arriving on the day of the festival so there won't be any time to get to it. At first I was a bit annoyed, being so close to seeing TLE once again, BUT I still have the BDO and the Clipsal so that will be enough anyway!

I'm not sure. I'm thinking not. Because you have to go through backstage to get to VIP, but I'm assuming that we can't just wander around backstage whenever we feel like it. But then again, if you end up with a photo pass, you'd probably be allowed a bit more access than the rest of us. Maybe try contacting the MS doods and see if they can help you out. There is the cloak room, but i'm guessing you don't want your camera/gear left in there!

Wow. What a weekend! Good and bad! The gig itself was great (but no Make The Call!! :() Found Sarah once she arrived, so it was cool to see her again...even if I didn't say all that much! You can blame the lack of sleep/too much sun that day! haha

Chris admitted he was drunk and apologised for any stuff ups! He had a few guitar stuff ups during the first few songs..then again a few bands had guitar stuff ups during the day.

Anyway, spoke to Andy this morning while at a bank in Launnie (getting all the money my brothers friends owed me :p) Didn't get to say much..pretty much just a very quick hello, how's it going/great gig/see you again soon kinda thing!

Got some photos which are pretty shite, got some video, dunno how they turned out though. Our little VIP viewing platform was good cos you could see right over the top of everyone, while still being able to drink and not having to worry about getting shoved or have anyone crowd surf over the top of us!! :D

Fuck me it was hot - I just sweated from when I got there until the sun went down, yuk!

VIP at a festival = the best thing ever. (Well, the second time round anyway - first VIP I went to I felt like I shouldn't actually be there cos I was just a young one back then)

You could go and jump around for bands, then come back in and get a drink, chill out and freshen up without being surrounded by the masses, or having to line up for it!

Only complaint I have with it was that I think the sunscreen they provided us with had some sort of dickhead magnet in it. Three different guys, all tall and slim, short dark hair and all with black tees wouldn't just get the fuck away from me. Nicole kindly rescued me from one of them (not that she knew that at the time!), thhhhaaaaanks! If one song could describe that part of the festival it would be You Could Have It So Much Better by Franz. "Well I wasn't down,I just wasn't smiling at you, yeah". Seriously, I didn't want to dance for the Presets because, 1. I can't dance and 2. I found them thoroughly dull. And the more you tried to grab my arms and make me move just made me hate them even more. And then, "As I look at you now it seems, That your slapping my back as if it's alright but it's not, I'm trying to get up but you're pushing me down, Yeah, you're pushing me down, So I'll get up on my own..." was the point when the crazy guy next to Nicole and I wouldn't get out of my face or my previously perfect view of the stage, so I jumped onto a chair behind him and then told him to fuck off when he tried to hassle me up there. Tossers. Oh and yes, I know who TSOMM are, I didn't leave VIP and walk to the other side of the festival just to have you give me a hard time cos you think you are the only one who knows who the fuck they are. Boys, psh.

But anyway, Gyro were pretty impressive. Never really got into them before, but they put on a great show. Really, really loved Faker (psh, you can all shut up now!). Hadn't seen them before, so it was a nice refreshing change to all the shit I normally watch. Watching Josh Pyke on the chairs in VIP, under the sun (as hot as it was) was just perfect! Loved that when their set got cut short they had to choose between playing Middle of the Hill and their latest single, and they chose Middle of the Hill - awesome. TSOMM were great, so much fun to watch, would have much prefered it if they got to be on the mainstage and the Presets got kicked back to the smaller stage, but then there probably would have been a glowing fluro riot...

haha, and I was just trying to figure out who else I saw that was worth a mention in this post too...

So yeah, saw TLE too. As Nicole said they were drunk, and they screwed up a bunch, but that was just funny. Nice to hear White Noise and MITS at a big show for the first time. And just plain nice to hear Loaded Gun again. Loved Prisoner (yeah, you can all shut up again), still think its a blast at festivals. Nice change to hear WGSU, even if it was just the regular version. Even HDWK wasn't too bad (and I can't stand that song). But about half way through their set I realised that that was it, I'm pretty much over it, the whole having to go to any length to see them play thing. So I think I'll just chill out a bit and just wait for them to come back and blow me away again. I'm in no rush. :)

EDIT: Oh, and on the festival itself - I thought it was set out really well, with the drunks having their own area. The crowds I experienced were all really good, just having fun and dancing away. Overall about a billion times better than Falls.
