i love reading!
it's one of my favourite things to do!

i have been reading a lot of kids books lately 'cause mum bought a whole stack of them - i find it really interesting to see the differing reading styles...

sometimes it doesn't seem like you need to actually be able to string a sentence together to end up a published author...

oh wellz!

:p

oh - has anyone read "The Time Travellers Wife" - i can't remember the authors name but - it was a good read - really interesting concept but you kinda have to suspend your brain for a while...

hehe - in fun news for entertaining typos - i typed suspend your brian instead of brain...

maybe i should have left it there to see if anyone would've noticed...

*shrugs*

Alright, here's a summary of my (crap) day!

Background info:
My (biological) aunt died last week, my (biological) uncle and his wife are on holiday in Scotland currently.
Last night, I plaited my hair in little plaits in the hopes it would be nice and curly this morning.

Story:
I woke up and after having my shower, realised my uniform was in the washing machine, mid cycle - this being twenty minutes before I had to leave. We put it in the dryer but five minutes before we had to leave, it was still heavy with dampness. I had to wear my Junior uniform, which sucked because a) my legs were getting hairy and b) I'm getting over (slowly) this allergic reaction so they look awful.
I undid my hair and discovered it was now a HUGE afro - ended up plaiting it again to keep it somewhat sane.
Just as we were about to leave for the bus stop (Mum drove us because we were late) my uncle called from Scotland to arrange flowers for the funeral tomorrow. We would have walked to the bus stop except my bus was due in two minutes and it's at least a five minute walk to the bus stop.
She hung up on my Uncle and said when he called back (after she'd taken us to the bus stop) that there must have been a bad line - he was none the wiser.
I got to school and all of my friends pretty much ditched me so that made me feel crap.
Somehow, in study, whilst *sitting* on the floor (emphasis on sitting) I managed to stuff my ankle - spent the bus trip home with my leg up on the seat, with ice on top of it - it's still hurting.

Yeah it was a good day :p

And you didn't post photos!? Aw.

The icons on this board are silly. Threads with unread posts are indicated by an envelope with paper sticking out of them, and threads that have already been read have a closed envelope. Seems a little bit... reverse?

Ben Folds un-retires live favourite "Rock This Bitch" as a tribute to Steve Irwin. (Sorry About The Shit Quality)

The Adlib Lyrics are:
"We're gonna rock, rock, rock this bitch for the coolest motherf*cker that ever has been/Gonna rock, rock, rock this bitch, rock this bitch for Steve Irwin/Rock stars and politicians, if you put your money where your mouth is/If you made a difference like Steve Irwin/We'd miss you like we miss him".

Chuck Palahniuk is the author of Fightclub.

Also, if any of you sickos have read that piece about guys jerking off with carrots and wax down their urethra and the pool suction-y thing? That's from 'Haunted' by Palahniuk.

His books are generally messed up in every sense of the word. Especially 'Haunted' (as I am currently finding out). But still ...addictive.

Troma Films, the company that made Tromeo and Juliet, are filming a werewolf movie in Perth. Tomorrow (saturday) is the locker room scene and they badly need more girls (over 18 though.) so yeah if any Perth girls on here wanna give it a go it's at Edith Cowan Uni Mt Lawley tomorrow at 12. Basically your role will be to get murdered and scream..

Yesterday Mel got me choking on some fries. Speaking of which, I have a funny story. We went into Maccas and I ordered myself some chips, the guy who served me was Indian and not very good with his English, and said "$250 thankyou." I gave him a ten dollar note and he said "$1000 and $750 change." Hahaha, made me laugh.

I've seen that on another forum. There's a map and you can stick a pin in it showing where you're from. And then people can also view the map and mouse-over your pin and it says your username and stuff.

I saw that, I think our per capita growth is currently exceeding all the other states.

I happen to reckon we're better than little ol' Victoria, but I plan to move away for a bit, but I'll retire in Tassie, and I'd choose here to raise a family over a lot of other places.

All of this has brough up horrible memories of being stuck in a car on a trip up the lakes, with a guy who kept playing that "You'll always come back to Tassie, if Tassie is where you're from" John Williamson song. here's an incomplete list of things I did in Melbourne. woo woo.

-hour drive out to Healesville, saw a lot of cute animals
-pub crawl along Elizabeth St (I think); putting on my 'beer jacket' because god damn it was cold
-more bars in Fitzroy and Carlton and other suburbs I can't locate; made out with a hottt but sketchy dude
-saw a lot of crappy local ska/punk bands (including said sketchy dude's)
-drove up the Dandenong mts. with Augie March on the stereo
-Burn the City, Blueline Medic + Donnie Dureau (if any of them are playing, hit it up)
-went to the free Federation Square and National Gallery of Victoria galleries :)
-got my septum pierced at The Piercing Urge
-checked out the little alleyways in the CBD, with busy coffeeshops and street art all over the walls
-admired the 'Vegas in Melbourne' feel at the Crown Casino
-watched all the scenester kids hanging around the Flinders St steps

i've had friends that have done the middle of summer to middle of winter thing - it sounds painful!

if i were to go anywhere i'd like to travel over our winter time and go to somewhere sunny... (for 6 months) and come back to an Aussie Summer...

i also want to go overseas when it's Christmas so i can see one of those "white christmas thingers" :p

that would be magical!

Your weather would be hotter due to being closer to the equator. That may be the same reason why your mind gets blown easily too :p joking!

i think i used up all my powers of comprehension in the rugby league thread a couple of minutes ago!

but i blame all ditzy moments on the air conditioner Cam :p

i swear that thing's only on to melt my mind!

and yeah - i figured out that we're closer to the equator that's why it's hotter (thanks - i feel like a real dummy now :p ) i just wasn't aware that it was THAT much different!

if i were to go anywhere i'd like to travel over our winter time and go to somewhere sunny... (for 6 months) and come back to an Aussie Summer...I did that twice. Canada and Alaska last year and Europe this year. It's awesome going overseas and knowing it's cold back home!

I'm off to gym now. Actually done a bit of Uni work.

if I had to pick between June weather in Phoenix or Melbourne, I'd have to say Los Angeles.

hey - did anyone ever see a BBC doccumentary called:

"The Wonderful World of Dung"
it had Tony Robinson from Blackadder as it's host (not as his character from Blackadder though...)

i don't know why but it's stuck in my mind and i would love to track down a copy...

I totally dug Melbourne and found it 'cultural' and whatnot, but compared to where I come from? yeeeeeah.
and from personal experience, Kim, Cam and Jawn are certainly a party.

and Caity, who's Robbo?
oh, only just a complete dreamboat.

...Robbo from the boards?

Cam, if you are refering to me and my rather loud "Wonderful World of Dung" post :p

if you are actually talking about someone actually having their bass turned up too loud then :(

haha i either sounded like a computer program OR a "pick-a-path" book!

YAY me!

He has done all these History Docos where he uncovers the details behind various Monarchs and War Heroes and stuff. It's bloody interesting and his Docos are all brilliant, but whenever i see them I automatically think of "Sir, I have a cunning plaaaaaan" :D

Does anybody know if there's an official site for the East Brunswick Club in Melbourne? I found the address of the place but just wanted to see if they had more detailed information about upcoming gigs.

I know how to use Google but couldn't find what I wanted in the first go :p
