Yeah i would think so.
I once accidently at training made a girl flash her tits.
I started to fall over, and instinct was still to grab onto something, and grabbed her singlet, ripping it open effectively making everyone see her chest.
I still apologise at training every week for that!

You go around in circles, one team tries to stop the other team going around in circles.
Jessii
12-15-2011, 10:38 PM
Each team has a jammer, the jammer scores points for every person on the other team they lap, so the opposing team is trying to stop them, while their team is trying to help them ect.

Anyone successfully got out of a speeding fine? I got fined for doing 68 in a 60 zone, but one of the blokes at work said that because this is my first fine in all my years of driving, they'll let me off with a warning if I write to them explaining the situation.
The Dying Start

Depends what the situation is!
I've had a license disqualification overturned, but never refuted a fine.
All_torn_down16

Always worth it to write to them and tell them about the situation!
Bit different, but I had a parking fine which happened because somehow the parking ticket fell off the dashboard (I don't know how because I checked it was there when I left the car! Now I'm paranoid about it). Anyway, because it was the first time it had happened and I showed them proof of paying for the ticket, they let me off which was nice of them. So yeah, no harm in refuting it!
My parents next door neighbor is a Snr Detective or some crap like that. Obviously Mum had told him about it and he wrote down what to write to the traffic officer or whoever it is. He said there's a 95% chance that I'll get issued a warning because this is my first offense (and last hahaaha)

I suspect that is a reference to something but I don't know what.
Jake, (or anyone else?) do you have any recommendations for a dark lager? I tried something called black cockatoo at the mount tamborine brewery and I loved it.
Kenan and Kel.
Dark lager or ale? There aren't a huge amount of dark lagers out there, but dark ales:
Coopers - pretty basic flavours, but widely available and well worth trying
True South - similar to Coopers, with slidely more unusual notes, less widely available
Moo Brew - fairly strong flavours, toasty
McLaren Vale: DRK - a good, simple beer, easy drinking
That's Australia-wise, I'm not too sure what's internationally available (or what would be available in Qld)
Mmm beer. I'm going to a beer launch tomorrow (unknown style, ooh mystery!), one on Friday (black IPA - my favourite style) and Holgate Brewery on Saturday, yay!
Boom King
01-09-2012, 08:09 PM
This one was defs a dark lager, a 'schwarzbier'.
A craft beer bar (one where you can taste samples and you can BYO food! ) just opened up nearby so i'm going to go there sometimes soon and see if they have any other dark lagers that I can try...but I guess dark ales would do too.
Ales are generally a little more 'full' than lagers flavour-wise, but otherwise there isn't a huge amount of difference.
Kiwi-land has Monteith's Black which you might enjoy, and is fairly widely distributed.
Let me know how you go! I always love when someone starts enjoying craft beers.

mmmm.... beer.
I've developed a taste for Dark Ales in the last few years... My favourites so far would be the Red Hill Imperial Stout (does a stout count as a dark ale? I think so yes?) and Coopers Extra Strong Vintage Ale. The latter will get you absolutely hammered though so take it slowly!
Boom King

Guinness also comes in a dark lager form, never tried that though.
All beers are different - even with the stout style, there are a huge amount of different flavours, so it's not worth dismissing on basis of Guinness.

Oh I know! Plus I didn't really like beer back then anyway, so i'm sure I'd like it more now. The only beer that I've found unpalatable lately was a belgian style 'dubbel' beer...it just tasted like wine mixed with beer or something, which didn't please my tastebuds very much.
Yeah, some of the Belgian stuff is odd. A style called lambis are really sour, one of the few that I just plain dislike.
If you like dark beers and enjoy dessert flavours, there are plenty of chocolate-caramel-coffee-y ones, stouts and porters. Still toasty and bitter enough as a beer, but with that delicious, filling flavour.
....I could go on for hours. I just voted for my top 5 in the Local Taphouse Hottest 100 beers :D

Yo Sarah,

Brisbane.
I recently discovered the magic of the spray bottle + fan combination. Who needs aircon when you have wonders such as that.
haha, thanks Brisbane/Kylie! They left us a fan in the spare room, so might have to try out the fan and water thingo. I was fine with the weather last week (and could handle going for runs if we got up at about 6am). But yeah got a bit hot this week, and basically didn't leave the house on the 37 day (and have only been using the gym with its super cold air con).
On Monday we hired a car and drove out to Logan to pop our IKEA cherries. We thought the aircon was really crappy in it until we got outside, poor little car!
We're trying to be good with the aircon - we can get through the night without it if it has been on during the day, and we're doing the whole 24 degree thing during the day. Plus we've found it gets cooler the higher up you are, so being on the balcony in our new apartment (41st floor) is quite pleasant, but you then get a shock when you have to go somewhere. I like it when I hear locals complaining about the heat (which I've heard a LOT this week), cos it makes me feel less like a flake! But was a bit bummed that Hobart had something like a 10 degree day this week - lucky bastards!

Finally got sleep after 36 hours of been awake since Soundwave.
Had an awesome day, almost didn't notice the 38 degree weather.
Made vegan cupcakes for the bands, gave them to promoter, was fun noticing all the different bands through out the day eating them.
Met Bam Margera and gave me him a Perth Roller Derby tee, he also took a bunch of stickers.
Watched Saves The Day, Unwritten Law, Lost Prophets, Jacks Mannequin, Dashboard Confessional and Angels and Airwaves.
Got to relive teenage dreams by meeting quite a few bands.
Managed to escape the heat because the lovely AJ Maddah and his assistant Kimmy let us hang out in their air conditioned room and help ourselves to their fridge of drinks whenever we liked.
Went to the after party, which was great, except for one of Mastodons crew who 3 times, tried to convince my twin and I we should go to their hotel room. No thanks.
Later saw him leave the bathroom with a girl wiping her mouth. Charming.
Only negative moment was, I had a guest production pass, and the only band I decided to watch side of stage was Dashboard Confessional. Few songs in security guards randomally grabbed me saying I can't stand there, and kicked me out, meanwhile everyone on the barricade are all staring. I wanna watch all the Dashboard clips from the set on youtube, but I'm scared you'll be able to see me get grabbed by security for no reason! Was a bit down after that but thought fuck it, I know my rights, and I was allowed to stand there, so fuck em!

Y'all may know that devon/fritz/luncheon is often used as an example of regional variation. It is or was known as luncheon in queensland, but at the show, Ross asked what we call it here, and someone said "Devon" with no protests from the crowd. I think they call it devon in supermarkets here now. Perhaps an example a reduction in regional variation! Either way, it's the worst meat product on the planet.* I'd rather eat a sheep's eyeball.

Also, it may or may not be interesting to note that I didn't even know about the "smiley" variation of fritz until probably my 20's. I don't know when or who brought it about. Maybe it's because my family always shopped at a butcher, and butchers make their own fritz. I do remember always getting a free slice of bung fritz whenever we went to the butcher though. So, I moved house a while back as some of ya'll might know. In with the lady.. It's good.. grand in fact.
Anyhow, my new area.. Balaclava. It tends to be a haven for celebrity spotting. In no particular order so far I've spotted without trying...
John Safran (running to the gym)
Kate Langbrook (wearing sunnies in the supermarket, talking loudly and looking like a twat)
Murray from the Wiggles (walking into a bar as I was walking out.. turns out he ended up having a drink with the friends I was there with. Bummer!)
The guy that used to play the angry Senior Supervisor guy in Blue Heelers and was also in Red Dog.. I think he may have been a vet in Red Dog? (I see him all the time drinking coffee)
Stephen Curry (In front of me in the Supermarket queue)
Will let you know if I see any others!
Oh oh and at a gig I was at I saw Dennis Commeti and I've heard of three different friends seeing him out and about in the same week.. Small world.
Oh and according to Twitter, Chris's pizza shop of choice is the same as where I get pizzas. Weird.

I don't know, I just never picked up the coffee drinking habit. I have drank a coffee before but it didn't interest me much. This one was quite delicious but I think I'll leave the coffee for special occasions when the coffee looks like it's going to be particularly good.
I still gots da man. He's still lovely.
How's your lady?

I see... I'm a bit of a coffee eater now. Slam at least two a day. Yum.
The lady is great... we're great... love and marriage and what not, all still going well and hopefully will stay that way.

Shitloads. I live on the Caulfield side of Balaclava which is particularly Jewish. I keep meaning to research the hats... There's the standard ones but then some dudes are rocking the awesome Russian style ones. Do I have to be Jewish to wear one of those?
Oh also... Our supermarket has a Kosher section and at the moment a lot of stuff for Passover. There's Passover branded Diet Coke that's like 3 times as much as normal diet coke!!!

No to the first one sadly...
To the second, nope... Sadly there's an alarming absence of kebab vans, so no baklava for me. I have ate a lot of chicken schnitzel rolls though. The chicken shop near my place is "fuckin' grouse"... As is the fish and chip shop, Turkish, beer bar and pizza place. Overall I've upgraded amenities and eateries I'd say. I am paying more rent though. Meh.

That's the one!
On a related note... My Uncle Herb (Sadly, not his real name) brought me back a Mexican made Cowboy hat from his ventures over that way. It's awesome quality. Just got to get the balls to wear it out. Does make me look a bit cuntree but I reckon I could rock that look.
Edit: Just saw your second link. It's both.. That is to say I've seen both.

My Uncle Herb
An interesting anecdote about people named Herb.
Not long after I started work at a previous college, one of the teachers required technical assistance in the classroom. She did the obviously wrong thing of asking the students (year 9) "what's the new IT guys name?". One bright spark came up with "Herbert, but he prefers Herb". She apparently called me Herb for a good couple of months before someone set her straight. Classic. I don't actually recall hearing her call me Herb though, which is sad.

My sis suggested that, but I assumed it was taken.
Could not think of any numbers I cared about, then had the light bulb moment while listening to Second Solution haha.
Up to level 3 in derby now, once I've passed Level 4 I can compete.
Experienced my first "Rink Rash" yesterday. Clipped wheels with a teammate, which caused me to belly slide across the rink, taking skin with it.
