I know Chris uses a few, I was thinking of "investing" in a Les Paul Historic 1957 Junior and was wondering how the P90 would do for TLE Songs? Chris's Gretches have that very crunchy sound, and so do P90s.
So would it be close enough? Thanks.

P90's are awesome, but are a completely different thing than a Gretsch with Filtertrons.
I probably describe them as clean and thin (that isnt a bad thing). Pretty much the same description as a single coil, but completly different sounding! It's hard to explain.. The break down in Make The Call when the band stops and that one thin sounding guitar comes in, thats P90.
My Gibson SG with P90's sounds nothing like any of my Gretsch guitars.

ıf you want TLE tone ıd steer clear of a les paul lol even though he uses one ın moment ın the sun and raıse the alarm you wouldnt be able to get the tone you are thınkıng of all the tıme maınly because ım pretty sure chrıs uses P90s sparıngly
as mıck saıd teh break down from make the call. and also the chords ın raıse the alarm where ıts lıke 'well ıd rather rısk my fate....'
P90s are thın soundıng pıckups. not ın a bad way but
and completely dıfferent to the chıme and sparkle you get from a fıltertron.
sorry ıf ı just repeated mıck haha

How do you guys know he uses a LP in those parts? Good ears I suppose (I can pick up different guitars but never really noticed 2 different guitars in White Noise..)
Hmm, tough choise, I wish I could get a real cheap White Falcon somewhere...might look into it.

I think they are great pickups and very unique sounding, plus they are great because they really do clean up when you back off your volume on your guitar, with not alot of EQ loss they do clean up very nice. They are very responsive to what you do..

yeah thats why i love single coil pickups
love the bridge pickup on my tele
that trebley twang makes for some aggressively sharp great tones
as if im about to be cut by a rusty knife...or something:s
they also sound really raw (single coils in general)
where as like gibson humbuckers sound more compressed

lol nah, it was just an example
just coz not all humbuckers sound like that
eg filtertrons...
