i was talking to the merch guy at the last show, and i was asking if i could get into the sound check for the toronto gig, and he told me that, no i couldn't, because mtv was going to be recording it for something, but he didn't know what.

anyone know why? or which mtv it's going to be? (MTVU, MTV2...etc)

Damn, that's interesting. I highly doubt it's just regular mtv though, maybe mtv u or mtv 2.

I would think they'd probably mention something on their myspace on website. It be cool if was mtv, simply because I wouldn't be able to watch it on any other channels.

it could be that MTV News thing, the "bands you should know" segment...

I feel for you Amur, Canada's music station, Much Music probably won't show anything TLE related either.

For the record, most of MTV does suck, but let us take solace in MTVu and Subterranean (MTV2).

On another note, look at MTVu's national dean's list countdown (http://www.mtvu.com/music/deans_list/)
(the MTVu top ten)
WOYR IS NUMBER 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: WAKE UP IS NUMBER 4!!!!!!!! (We've got two of the nation's top ten slots!)

We (by this I mean anyone who can [college students]) must do all we can to maintain this spot, and/or keep TLE on the countdown as long as possible. We must keep the profile high, so that TLE can never not sell out a venue in the US again (Levittown?! f*ck you long islanders...thank god for the Knitting Factory)

Lastly, and I know this is not thread-relevant, but I'm gonna say it anyway(I'm not sure if I said this on another thread already)...I got an interview with Andy at Knitting Factory for my campus newspaper (Hofstra Chronicle) and excerpts will be printed. In addition, I submitted a 600 word review of the Knitting Factory show, which will also be printed in the paper. PM me for each.

I see that MTV news thing every morning, as I get up real early to work out and have the TV on. So far no TLE, but will mention if I do. I hope that they are still showing vids when I start up uni in Feb., cause right now I don't get MTVU:( .

you can watch it online at:
http://www.mtvu.com/
Click videos on the top left, MTVu Uber will open up, you can select the vids there if you want, or you can watch live by clicking 'live.'

Thank you all for the compliments, they are much appreciated, and yes, I wish they'd play BOYH...

The interview was not run in the paper, it was supposed to be an online-exclusive, more details when I know what's going on with it.
The review ran in the Nov 30 issue of the paper. The editors took out some of the snappier lines of the review, I will edit the post with a .pdf scan on Wednesday.

Thanks again!

You should post it in the Videos thread (only because we no longer have a downloads thread), and share the love.

Nah, Mtv really isn't that interesting. They show one or two good videos in a batch of 20 bad...when they even play videos. It's mostly all that reality bullshit.

Yeah, thus far I've only ever seen POS & Roll On on MTV. Those were late night shows, 120 Minutes I think. I remember Roll On was on some special for some reason, a long time ago. I actually recorded it on VHS, it's somewhere.

You should check out VH1 though. Vote for Wake UP to be number one on their countdown.

PS - Were you at their show at the TLA in November??

Anyone can access mtvu. Go to mtvu.com, click on videos. It will open up MTVu Uber, the network's database of shows, videos and live tv. Click live, and it will load and play live television.

relax. mtvu is not mtv. mtvu is only for college students, and as such, is only really recognized by the college music circuit. tle are not selling out to anyone, this is just capitalism in the us, being exploited by adeline.
