Okay I'll try to remember everything from last night.
Got to Bendigo around 7 and got dinner in the first Macca's we saw. I'll post what I ate in the appropriate thread :p
Found the Uni, but wasn't sure exactly where it was, as I didn't print out a campus map. Sorry guys! Thanks to Kristen for her navigating skills. We pulled up next to some guy jogging and Kristen tried to pick up .... I mean asked where the Uni was. Anyway, we eventually found the place.
I didn't care much for the supports. Red Riders sounded like a lot of other bands. The singer irritated me. And their banner and name on the drums was pretty ammatuer - as was their merch. End of Fashion were okay but I didn't get into until TLE. When they came out I yelled out "F*** yeah!" and they guy next to me said to his friend "The guy next to me's come out of his shell". So true.
Setlist was similar to most of the others I've seen. I got my money's worth from the EP medley (would still love to hear full versions of those songs one day though) and Tainted Love. Actually I got my money's worth from all the Kim and Kristen action :D
I was 2nd from front but ended up 10 back by the end of the night. I could only see TLE about a quarter of the time. Damn tall people! I hate the people who decide to rush up the front for the 2nd last song of the night (POW) because it's the only one they know. And then decide to smack their elbow into my shoulder which was just starting to get better. Any spill beer on my teeshirt. Anyway ...
We waited around a bit afterwards and when Kristen was on the phone to Jake, Kim called us because she saw the boys. Their was a little group with them getting photos and shoes signed. We spoke for a few minutes before they had to head off.
The other three from Melbourne (May, Beth and Kat) were following the boys home on the Calder (we got updates via SMS).
Our trip home was delayed. First we turned the wrong way out of a street, so backtracked to the Uni. We'd noticed some cop cars around and then when we had found the right way to go home, I got pulled over. Got the random breathtest which was fine because I don't drink, but then I remembered I'd had a Vodka chocolate at Kim's (although that wouldn't have put me over the limit and it was about 11 hours before).
Then he asked for my licence, name and address, what I was doing in the area, did I own the car, etc. He goes back to his car and another guy checks my rego. He comes back and just says he was checking if I was drinking. So why all the other questions?
I broke my PB on the way home - 142kmh.
Hope I haven't forgotten anything. I'm sure the others will fill you in if I have!

It was a great gig, we had heaps of fun.
The hobo looking guitarist guy from End of Fashion asking if I was alright coz I was falling asleep during their set was the highlight of my evening.
I've got some awesome photos from the night, just saving them all now so I'll post them up later. Thanks to Cam for driving, Kristen for being beautiful and navigating, Hugo for keeping me entertained in the back seat. And thanks to Matty for the setlist and the boys for being generally cool.

I think it was WER or something toward the end...
And the 'starjump' is just the big jump Chris did off the drum platform. But it always looks very rock :p

Yeah I was a bit annoyed about that. There was another one from towards the start of the set that would have been perfect but I got bumped so it went blurry :(

I should go to more regional gigs! the one time I tried to take my digi SLR in (Nashville Pussy) I wasn't allowed to use it but I taleked to the tour manager of the support band and he was cool so they gave me a pass....

Yeah they were with my digi SLR. Depends on the venue, Luke. Most bands are fine with pics, but each venue and security have different rules.

My photos aren't half as awesome as Kims but I might post some anyway when I get around to downloading them so Caity can make wallpapers out of them for me ;)
Everyone has pretty much already said everything there was to say about Bendigo i.e the Red Riders sucked, man it was funny when End Of Fashion guy asked bored looking Kim if she was ok and TLE rocked as per usual.
So all that's left for me to say is ...
Thanks to my roadtripping buddies Kimbee and Hugo and especially Cam for driving.
Thanks to the Bendigo crowd for not being a bunch of crowdsurfing wankers.
Oh and sorry to the chicks from the 67 Special boards who went to the effort of getting my attention in the crowd and saying hello, only to have me have no idea who they were. I guess that's just what happens when you're as famous as me and meet so many people :p

I am assuming that we were the "other melbourne people" and yeah we certainly enjoyed ourselves! We are all completely in love with the Red Riders and End of Fashion and thought they did an awesome job opening for The Living End!
Bring on the Palace gig! Beyond excited... again :)
