That new Christina Aguilera song, Aint No Other Man (I think?)

Partly (mostly) because she looks so GOD DAMN FINE in the video clip, now I like the song.

Jawn
09-11-2006, 07:21 PM
the problem is, if you listen to the song without the video, you don't get any views of Christina.

probably stuff by Amiel off Audio Out.. I should listen to that album again.

I didn;t mind that Christina song, but about half way through it those 40s-era-horns really started to piss me off.

I didn;t mind that Christina song, but about half way through it those 40s-era-horns really started to piss me off.

I really really like songs with horns. Probably because I love big band and showtunes and whatnot. Even that Shakira song I find SO DAMN CATCHY. But in Christina's song it shits me because it's so boring and repetitive. I mean it's the DOOO-DO throughout the entire song.

And on topic, there are HEAPS of songs I like but would get dissed about. I like all the 90s pop crap that I liked when I was younger (eg. Another Night - Real McCoy, Candyman - Aqua, Lovefool - The Cardigans) and I love heaps of old stuff like the Beach Boys haha. Such a dag...

Although I do admit it, it's not like I hide it! :p

"If ya getting down baby, I want it now baby"
They were great, apart from the atrocious We Will Rock You version they did with Queen (why Queen agreed to it I have no idea). All that white boy rap is great.

'im blue dadudidabuda' somethin like that

-George-
09-11-2006, 08:04 PM
Hahaha.

Yo listen up, here's a story, about a little guy that lives in a blue world.
And all day and all night everything he sees is just blue, like him, inside and outside...

Or something similar.. That song ruled except for the chorus.]
And then they had that Move Your Body song.

Elton John is a legend...how could you not like him?

I'm not embarassed to say i like Elton's music.

I'm not embarassed to admit liking any music. I don't follow the "hate this new popstar" trends....so I just listen to songs that i think sound good. Sometimes I only like one song from a band or artist....but the things i think you probably want me to admit to are as follows: (I like alot of stuff from these artists)

Avril Lavigne
Simple Plan
Sum 41
Cypress Hill
Blink 182
Box Car Racer
The Bee Gees
The Corrs
The Bangles
Cyndi Lauper
East 17
Eurythmics
Four Tops
Good Charlotte - Old school stuff and Madden Bros Acoustic stuff
Hilltop Hoods
Human Nature
John Williamson
Kate Ceberano
Missy Higgins
New Found Glory - older stuff
Paul McDermott
Salt N Pepa
Simon & Garfunkel
Simply Red
Taylor Dayne
Transplants
Wendy Matthews

You can all decide which of those you think would be embarassing coz i don't really care....

i have them on my iPod and am not affraid to admit to them

i grew up listening to 60s pop and therefore love it...

i also dig the carpenters...

Peter Coombe is a legend and he is actually making a mint these days doing 21st parties and such. All the oldies like us grew up with him, and thus want him to play at milestones like 21sts....Awesome. I wish i had him at my 21st....i could've gone a few verses of Newspaper Mama

i didn't hate some Avril... does that count?

*shrugs*

most embarressing thing on my iPod is probably Abba and Savage Garden - i don't like Abba much anymore though...

as previously stated - i have a lot of songs that could 'incriminate' me... i may need to do up a list like Glenn did...

*M!

The Dying Start
09-12-2006, 01:40 PM
Savage Garden isn't all bad...used to listen to a bit of that at the parties after Year 7. Darren Hayes can sing, that's for sure.

And a little bit of ABBA can go a long way too...

*M!
09-12-2006, 01:41 PM
Darren and Daniel (ie Savage Garden) wrote good pop music...
i liked it

it used to get me beat up...

ha

no not really...

i also used to like Hanson - i don't particularly care for them anymore but i would have liked to see them live when they were here last year!

I totally love "The Adventure" from Angels and Airwaves.

and I looooove Beck's 'Midnite Vultures' even though I feel a little bit embarrassed listening to it for some reason, just cause it's so goofy and over the top.

oh and, I like Jet too :)

09-12-2006, 03:31 PM
And a little bit of ABBA can go a long way too...

Aha. If there was one band that I grew up listening to from each of my parents it would be The Beatles from my papa and ABBA from my mama.

And my dad is still in love with Cliff Richards - yes...it's EXACLTY what it sounds like....

And I have a great love for things like the Beach Boys and Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. I'll even 'fess up to things like Copa Cabana by Barry Manilow and even...

Yeah I love that album, but it's never that cool to love Beck for some reason.

Was it Glenn talking about only like old GC stuff? Anyway, I have a huge weakness for I Just Wanna Live. New, but so cheesy and great and the little faux-rap bit where they break it down the "a white suit when I'm getting divorced" bit. So good.

Matchbox 20!

Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince

Boyz II Men was the first CD i owned...it was a Christmas present....i used to be embarassed of that, but in reality...those boys can sing fucking tight harmonies, and most of it is pretty good musically...so i don't really know how they became "uncool".

Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel

and I have to admit Sledgehammer is pretty catchy too.

Another one I love is Red Rain, well, a live video of it with Gabriel accompanied by Michael Stipe and Natalie Merchant. I'm not afraid to admit that one though, it's a masterpiece. R.E.M. also released a live medley of Time after Time and South Central Rain from '87 with a verse of Red Rain in the middle. Also great.

a bumpage of thread because theres a truckload of new songs out there that I like:

Eric Prydz vs Pink Floyd - Proper Education = Its wrong on sooo many levels. But its catchy.

The Automatic - Monster (Zombie Dogs Mix) = Soo damn catchy. The chorus has drilled into my mind big time.

Evermore - Running (Potbelleeze Remix) = Disliked the original, but the remix has won me over.

JBT - Funky Tonight. I don't so much like the studio version, but the live version is pretty cool. He tries to do a GD and get the crowd to singalong.

Bob Evans - Friend. At first I didnt really like this track, but its grown on me. Good tune. Good bloke.

Supafly Inc. - Moving Too Fast (I think its a cover, not sure. Sounds familiar, but its alright)

Oh and the Robbie Williams tune Love Light. I dont mind that at all. Should have done that live at his gigs But didnt.

Song I'm not liking at the moment is the new Good Charlotte track. and the new Bernard Fanning Track. Should have left Kev Carmody alone.

Other than that trip back into memory lane, everything released recently is shitting me off no end, and I just can't get into anything. My Chemical Romance are too over the top, that Beyonce song thats in the charts I swear I heard it five years ago. What else is big now? I dunno. On January 13, 2007, the band realeased the first teaser episode to their upcoming docu-series podcast titled "Taking the Walk" on iTunes. The actual docu-series won't be realeased until the end of February. On Monday, January 15 the first episode of the band's long-awaited documentary "Strong Enough to Break" was released on iTunes. The documentary is broken up into 13 different episodes and will be released on the "Taking the Walk" podcast.

Their second album off 3CG Records, "The Walk" will be released in the U.S., Mexico and Canada on May 22, and released in Japan on Feb. 21 and in the U.K. on April 30.
