Pretty good for an MTVU interview...their staff seem to generally be mentally under-equipped. Got some classic Scotty quotes in there!

"Q: Any random messages or tips you'd like to give to mtvU watchers?
Andy: I want to wish everyone a happy and safe new year. See you next time we're over your way!
Scott: If you are aspiring, use deodorant."

Anyyyway, here's the whole thing:

Chris Cheney (guitar, vox), Scott Owen (bass, vox) and Andy Strachan (drums, vox) are the masterminds behind Aussie punkabilly outfit, The Living End. With two gold records and three multi-platinums under their belts, these Warped Tour alums are poised to pass up Vegemite as Australia's official national pastime. We emailed them your questions and they answered. Read on for the lowdown on tour essentials, Bon Jovi love and Playboy mansion etiquette.

Q & A with The Living End

Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.
Andy: The Warped Tour! 100 bands traveling all over the country during a heat wave without showers.
Scott: A visit to the Playboy mansion where we had a photo taken with John Holmes.
Chris: Every day on tour has a certain craziness attached to it. Going to the Playboy mansion was quite surreal. It's probably on most men's lists of things to do before they die. There was nothing particularly crazy that happened, aside from being with all the over-the-top Hollywood crowd and the occasional naked girl. We behaved ourselves but its easy to see how you could get yourself into trouble (or fun!).

Q: What type of college class would you most want to take and why?
Andy: Maybe photography, so I could learn how to take a decent photo. My photos suck.
Scott: Marine Biology, because I like to be near the ocean.
Chris: History, because I am fascinated by how we all got to where we are and I enjoy reading about human evolution.

Q: What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?
Andy: There are plenty, but I really like Ventura, California. It always feels relaxed and there are great beaches, shops and food. What more do you need?
Scott: New York 'cos there is always lots happening and the food and shopping is tops.
Chris: New York. Because there's so much to do and so much wonderful history. I've been several times and still feel I know very little about it and haven't seen a quarter of it.

Q: What's some of the best advice you were ever given?
Andy: Play for the song, if it don't need to be there, don't play it.
Scott: My nan told me that at my age there is little chance that I am gonna change much as a person so don't bother trying. Accept who you are!
Chris: Try to look at the positive side of negative situations. I have to remind myself of this often.

Q: What's in heavy rotation in your mp3/CD player right now?
Andy: Tenacious D "The Pick Of Destiny."
Scott: Sean Lennon, The Killers, Tenacious D, Queens of the Stone Age.
Chris: Sean Lennon's Friendly Fire

Q: The last good book you read or TV show you're addicted to?
Andy: I got pretty addicted to Jamie Oliver's cooking show last year and reruns of Mash are always hard to turn off.
Scott: Book, Harvey Pekar's American Splendor comics. TV, Good Times.
Chris: Book, Angels Of Death, Inside The Biker Gangs Crime Empire, by Julian Sher and William Marsden. Fascinating stuff and quite shocking in parts.

Q: What's the first concert you ever saw and how was it?
Andy: Bon Jovi!!! I was blown away, especially by Tico's revolving drum riser! Very stadium rock.
Scott: Midnight Oil in Melbourne Australia. It was loud and powerful and made me feel mighty.
Chris: Bon Jovi, Slippery When Wet Tour 1986 in Melbourne. It was great but we had to use binoculars because we were so far away from the stage.

Q: What are three items you can't live without on tour?
Andy: iPod, coffee machine and baby wipes, the best shower alternative.
Scott: iPod, creepers, Aleve.
Chris: Acoustic guitar for the bus, iPod and a jar of vegemite.

Q: Who are your major musical influences?
Andy: The Hoodoo Gurus, The Queens of The Stone Age, The Police, Madness, U2... I could go on and on but I won't.
Scott: Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, AC/DC, the Stray Cats, The Who, Midnight Oil.
Chris: Elvis Presley, The Clash, The Beatles, Stray Cats, AC/DC

Q: Any random messages or tips you'd like to give to mtvU watchers?
Andy: I want to wish everyone a happy and safe new year. See you next time we're over your way!
Scott: If you are aspiring, use deodorant.
Chris: Hey, to all mtvu watchers, thanks for the support and happy new year. Looking forward to getting back to the States to play some shows. See you then. Peace.

I like that question. It's so different to the norm! :)
Someone was thinking outside the box!! :p
Was this the thing where you had to send in your own question to MTVu and then TLE answered it??
