MixTapeCD Swap - Dec '08

So this is the new thread for that CD swap shizz.

a basic rundown of what happens is you PM me your Name and Address, and i will randomly pick someone for you to send a mixtape CD to and in return, a different random participant will send you a mixtape cd. and once we all receive our mixtapes, we shall post reviews in this and/or another thread.

pretty simple really.

but yeah, just PM me your details if you're interested.

Oh yeah. The rule usually is: NO TLE TO BE ON THE CD'S!!

nope...i'm thinking a minimum of 50 minutes of listening time should be expected.

and also you can't make it all one band... maybe a limit of one or 2 songs?

Yeah from past rules: (Actually from what I remember)


1. NO TLE. No exceptions.
2. You can't have more than one song from the same band (ie. you can't have Killing in the Name & Zapitas Blood from Rage Against The Machine on the same compilation)
3. Don't just mail a CD without a tracklist or without any sort of markings (ie. label your disc (creatively if you so desire))
4. Don't share the details of your Swap person with anyone other than yourself. Share it with anyone that's not intended results in your arse being banned from th.e forum. No If, but's or maybes.
5. If you have issues with giving your details out, you can opt to send your CD to the organiser and they will pass your CD on (if you provide a bunch of stamps or a dollar or two to cover post)
6. NO MP3 CDS. This has to be an Audio CD.
7. Media allowed: Audio CD, Cassette tape or Vinyl (if you have a dub cutter) CD's are preferenced because they're common and everyone has a CD player (well most)
8. There is no limit to how many CDs you can send. But you must atleast send one.
9. Put some thought into your mixtape. don't just load it with 10 of your favorite songs.


As for the cassette rule, I have received a tape in a previous swap and it was cool and retro. Nice change, but it made it impossible to put on the MP3 player (It had some cool tracks on it)

And I've also received a double CD pack too. that was also cool. It had a great variety of songs on it (from pop, punk, rockabilly, right through to Michael Jackson)

I always take so long thinking about what to put on it and it usually ends up crappy! :p I'm going to think of a better theme this time!

I might sit this one out as some people would probably be unhappy with my request of 'nothing ____billy" and I think most people have different taste to me anyway and wouldn't appreciate my ever so meticulously planned out mix.

not that i have anything to compare it to, i would rather doing it in smaller groups just because it's not so confusing. but then again, the factor of having absolutely no idea who got you is missing.

also sorry nic for the repeatedness of some bands, and the dodgy cover. my computer was ou at the toshiba mobile care place (it's still not fixed! *shakes fist*) bu i was smat enough to back up most of my music so thats all i could have for you. plus it was meant to be a home grown thing from bris, but a few slipped in. one from auckland (false start), one from sydney (frenzal rhomb) and melbourne (the black and white). i don't particuarly like a moment of... but it was apt to have it as an opener.
