Some of Australia's biggest names in the Australian music scene came out to celebrate tonight at Luna Park, which played host to the 4th Annual Jack Awards. The Jack Awards celebrates the Australian Live Music industry thanks to Jack Daniel's.

The night exploded with an electric performance by Airbourne, commanding the crowd to 'Stand Up For Rock & Roll'! And the audience did just that…

The dazzling Melanie Greensmith (founder of Wheels & Dollbaby) and husband Mark McEntee (The Divinyls) presented the new Best Dressed category to the ever stylish, Katy Steele from Little Birdy. Katy also walked away with the Best Female Performer Jack Award.

Australia's Best Male Performer was awarded to Daniel Johns from Silverchair by Miss Australia 2006 — Erin McNaught. The band also scooped up Best Drummer, awarded to Ben Gillies. Best Lead Guitarists went to Chris Cheney from The Living End, presented by Ronnie Johns in a display that caused an uproar of laughter through out the venue. Merrick & Rosso announced Best Live Newcomers, Red Riders who are graciously accepted their award in front of a foray of artists, once their heros, now their equals.

All those who attended the event were treated to performances by Beasts of Bourbon, Mercy Arms, You Am I who performed a tribute to the late Billy Thorpe, Howling Bells and Angry Anderson's All Star Jam—including members of You Am I, The Divinyls, Grinspoon and The Sleepy Jackson.
