Sorry guys been away from the computer all day.

the photo posted said 'this will give you an idea of what it might look like'. Not 'this is chris cheneys guitar'.

the photo was of David Lee's signature White Pheonix.

Now that photo was posted on the gretsch forum saying 'yes this IS chris' sig guitar'. So I had to remove the rumour from here :)

Thats why I dont want to give out info or show off pics cos this stuff happens. I did it once and see what happened :) Sorry guys, not again. No info until its released.

Fair enough man, we understand.
It must be hard trying to keep that secret - seems like you want to tell us everything.
We'll be patient...

Sorry kinda my fault. I posted that pic very late last night just saying 'here is what it might look like, heres a good idea for yous'. I should of stressed that alot more.

Came back the next day and i go to gretschpages.com and theres a post there saying 'heres chris' sig guitar'!!

I had to delete the topic here to kill the wrong info on gretschpages

BonesTLE
01-26-2007, 05:47 PM
I saw that post: I'm a reader but not a poster there - I should have said something...
People should get the idea. I mean even comparing the stats to the picture there's many differences...

Fritz

Not too much really. It took forever to arrive though.
The hardest part was just not having a lefty to try first. I sort of had to imagine it a bit. :D

Ah awesome! I might get a left handed one in the distant future just for the sake of having a White Falcon. But in terms of cost, I can get just as good a guitar for a fraction of the price. It's like designer clothes, you're paying for the label more than anything.

I don't really think that's true with Gretsch's. So much work is put into every guitar. They're handmade - not machine produced. While it's true that in many things you are paying for the brand, it's not always the case: sometimes you're paying for quality.

Julian

Apparently with lower end Gretschs you are paying purely for the name. All the characteristics of an overseas made guitar except the price

BonesTLE
01-28-2007, 01:52 PM
You're probably right there Julian...

all the more reason to save up and do it properly then.

Strider

I though Gretsches were mass produced just like every other guitar these days (especially since they've been taken over). I just assumed that was the case, I wouldn't consider myself learned in electric guitars to be honest so you may be right....I agree with you to a certain extent with quality, but Gretsches are WAY over-priced for their quality. You can most definitely get an equal guitar performance wise for a fraction of the price...

Julian
01-28-2007, 08:45 PM
Yeah, I thought they were mass produced too.
