Hey check these out..

I wanted something like this since I will soon be living out of hotels for a while whilst on tour. - Make some noice in my room but not get in trouble off anyone basically.

They make different sounding models - I purchased the AC30 model and am very very surprised how awesome it sounds for a $69 piece of gear. I plugged in my good headphones with it and very very impressed! It's capable of a wicked chimey AC30 clean sound (for those living end fans think of 'tragedy') and the gain cranked gives a wicked hard overdriven sound. I totally recommand these! I tried the 'classic' model also but didnt have a good enough clean sound compared to the AC30 but did have more gain but the AC30 is more than enough gain for me. Mind you I have some good headphones and a gretsch power tenny in the equation also :flowers: - Very impressed considering its a piece of $69 plastic.

Apparently also you can plug in an mp3 player into the AUX input and jam along with mp3's and such

yeah, they've been getting really good reviews all over the shop. It's a great idea for sure, and the demos on the site sound great. I actually dont think I would have a use for one at the moment though.

We have similar things to those at school but they're Fender/Hello Kitty and have VERY limited tone.

I just had a thought, one of these would be pretty awesome for portable recording as well, if you get a 1.5mm to 1.5mm cable you could just plug straight into a laptop mic in and record....

Good Thinking Me :D

Hmm I might pick one of these up. Anybody know what the metal one sounds like? I'm not a huge metal head (I only really listen to 70's and 80's metal) but I do like having a fairly metal tone when I make riffs and Jam.

haha yeah matt, thats my current recording setup XD
anyway i got a Classic Rock amplug last yr for xmas, is prretty good but i also won an AC30 one in january when i was at rock school, definitely the pick of the bunch... even makes my PRS copy Mirabeau sound alright, with its squealy pup not evn being an issue due to minimal volume output...
