jeez i post info about incredibly expensive guitars being released, tell you something new about chris cheneys sig. guitar, told an amp story and theres like no replies... whats wrong with you ?
haha
Anyway. What are some songs you HATE or wouldnt listen to but are really fun to play ?? or sound good or nice ?? whatever.
Preferably songs most people could go 'oh yeah i know the one he's talking about' instead of eg. wankadankafest by dream wanker theatre or something machanical like that.
Blame it on the boogie - jackson 5
so beautiful - pete murray
from the sea - eskimo joe
dreadlock holiday - 10CC
learn to fly - foo fighters

"Yackety Axe" by Chet Atkins... ultimate hillbilly song, and too catchy for its own good. But its fun to play

welcome to the black parade is fun to play even though i dont know all of it, how tricky is all that palm muting in the second bits of the two verses after the real guitars kick in? (pretty rhetorical) do you play it all with downstrokes as i have been doing? and if not is it easier not to?

course it does and a teeny tiny bit of phase to give it that van halen feel. call me giles btw/ gilo/jools/joolsie/whatever else people seem to derive from it.
My Sharona (The Knack)... I feel the need to play it everytime I pick up a guitar.
It's a weird one though, I love it to death when I am playing it, but when I hear it on the radio or whatever it annoys the piss out of me. Probably 'cause of the lyrics... I hate the lyrics.

Yeah I do all downstrokes unless I'm feeling lazy. And yeah, it's easier but sounds like shit going up/down up/down. I'm just having trouble with that fast bit before the second "guitar solo" with the harmonies.

Haha.. We used to flog that in the music room at school. And pretty much anything by Grinspoon.
I'm a pretty haggard player and my theory knowledge is shitful so I've been messing around on a few scales lately, and when I was playing one I realised that I was playing some xmas song. The one that goes along the lines of "no-el, no-el, born is the king... born is the king of iz-z-rae-el". The words there are DEFINATELY wrong but you get the picture.
A song that I don't really like but love playing is "Advance Australia Fair"... It leads into the intro for Roll On so well. ;)

True... Arctic Monkeys - Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor, Rasmus - In The Shadows...
Also.. I actually do like the song (i know i'll cop flack for that!)... But one that might fit in to this is Lily Allen's song "It's Not Fair"... I was fiddling around with that and it's a big hit when you pull out the guitar at a party or something.
