MAX announced today that it will be commemorating the 2009 Australasian Performing
Right Association (APRA) Music Awards with a 60min special television event. Hosted by
Yumi Stynes, 2009 APRA MUSIC AWARDS will feature performances from the ceremony,
interviews with artists and all the winners from the night.
The 60min special 2009 APRA MUSIC AWARDS will premiere Sunday 5 July at 8.30pm,
exclusively on MAX.
The APRA Music Awards celebrate the achievements of Australian composers and
songwriters behind our favourite songs, paying tribute to those who have attained great
success and excellence in their craft and honouring them in front of their peers.
The APRA Music Awards will also see the announcement of the winner of the prestigious
APRA Song of the Year. This year the contenders are Can’t Shake It (Kate Miller-Heidke),
Dig Lazarus Dig (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds), Rattlin’ Bones (Kasey Chambers and Shane
Nicholson), Walking on a Dream (Empire of the Sun), and White Noise (The Living End).
MAX is proud to be a supporter of APRA and our local songwriters.

I think he's flying back to Sweden tomorrow. I spoke to him briefly last week and he told me he hardly ever sleeps on plane flights, just like me. He'll probably be completely knackered by the time he returns to Europe.

I LOVE flying, I don't know why I get such a kick out of it. I'm usually awake for the duration of a flight too. Sometimes doze off, but it isn't usually for long that I'm aware of. I've been around planes since I was about four, though. Growing up around them might have a part of it...

I don't mean that in a bad way either. like yeah, fair enough aye, i have that with some songs, love the verses, but cant stand the choruses. but yeah just curious. ;)

For me, the chorus is what makes that song. The chorus is what the song is based around. It's such a simple melody line, yet its got that vicious hook to it. The chorus is pretty much a masterpiece. The amount of people, that get it stuck in their head, after say someone starts singing it at school/work is pretty high.

But yeah, the whole White Noise album is a masterpiece for me anyway haha.

It was something along the lines of Vicki Simpson (50/50 *insertdate*) Chris was fresh off a flight from Europe and was driven straight to the APRA awards. It was a case of Land, Say Hi to the Wife, go to the awards. No time to spare.
