Nicole - STD. Yeah the newer one is darker and has teh pointer stars and thinner text on the back (and my older one has the STD tour sticker in it too!). But the quickest way to tell the difference is if you flip it over, in the small box directly below the barcode is either 8861642 (older) or MODCS001 (newer)

And Scott used to do them...well, live anyway...I'm pretty sure he did them on record too...although the second one (at 2:33) does sound slightly odd...i don't think they were at the point where they'd be adding scream samples to their music. But then again, they did use Tram samples for other songs on Hellbound.

On the SOE DVD:How to make an album and influence people, there is a part where Andy is sitting on a couch and Chris has an acoustic guitar, and Chris is playing a familiar riff, i think it goes 'and if you look me in the eyes' dum da da da da dadada dadada da dum da da (haha my impression of a guitar)...umm yeah sorry can't really tell you how far into it it is as i dont have the dvd, i just remember watching it on channel ten...

I've searched back through some of the archives in this message board for the list of all the music on that DVD and found the list but that little piece of music isnt in there...

Ummm, not that I know of. The online store only offers it with the Aus version, so I guess it would still be in PAL format.

You'll be needing a DVD player that can play all regions or multi regions. For example Australia is region 4 and US is region 1. Although.. I have some region 1 DVDs that play fine on my laptop and DVD player but thats something to do with aus and south america having the same coding or something.

As a rule, computer DVD players are bound only by the software on your machine. So as long as you have software that will allow multiple formats, then you'll be fine. Unfortunately most software I've seen allows you to switch regions only a set number of times before it locks down.

Ok, because I wasn't around here too much during 2005, (I was more of a TLE listener than internetz geek), I don't know if this has been asked before or not.

In the original version of Leilani, there was no bass part as the Hoodoo Gurus original members didn't have a bass player amongst them.

My question is: did TLE find it hard/challenging or maybe easy to record the song??
I don't know too much about the hoodoo gurus, other than that their first single was Leilani and that the original line up had no bass player and that some of their other singles rock my socks :p

So yeah if anyone has any info/answers that'd cool :)

It did indeed. If the bass had have been more prominent/obvious in the song, it would have sounded..funny?.. odd? Out of place?
I'm not sure, what the word is that I'm looking for, but the way that they managed to include the bass has worked really well for the song.

They sang Bad Boy for Love as a tribute to Pete Wells at the 2006 Jack Awards. I don't know much else really.

They were only different in the way that they have different videos for Aus and USA. The songs aren't different (I don't think). Some singles released in Aus have sounded slightly different to the album version too, but a lot of artists/bands around the world do that.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure I've stuffed up somewhere! :p

The aus video has the single version on it, and the US video has the album recording.

As for WGSU, they really wanted to make a vid with some guy whose name I've forgotten, but he was booked out for a while or something. So they made the Splendour In The Grass black-red-and-white WGSU clip for promotion for the 6 months or so before they made the colourful one with the director they wanted over in the US.

I had a copy of one recorded off Rage, without any subtitles down the bottom. The one on the DVD does have them. And I think I saw on the doco there was a snippet with the subtitles in a diffferent font!

Similar issue...the same photo was used for West End Riot single, and US POS/SS Single...yet in one there is writing on Chris' tshirt, and in the other there is none.

I think it's probably a case of not wanting to advertise or favour anyone, and perhaps in the case of the tshirt, where there is no real logo visible..it might just be to clean the image up a bit.

The falls website says they did. I know they did the '97 and '04 gigs..but yeah.

Yeah, I heard about that too and tried it. It didn't work for me. Says you can only use the card for the Country you bought it in. So I can only use it in the US store on itunes. :(

I was just curious if there was another way to buy them off there, like by credit card or something. :confused:

I was trying to do it early (buy songs from the Australia store on there) and see if i could do it with my credit card instead of a itunes card, but i had to sign in after I clicked on buy, of course. When i clicked that and tried to sign in, it says that my account is only vaid for the US store.

So I'm not sure but i guessing I have to make another account for the Australia store. :confused: I just wonder if that will erase my US account.

Try making an account that'll be useable for the Australian store.

Real Gone Cats was written by Chris and Scotty it isnt a cover. It was on a demo tape they sold at gigs when they were going by the name "runaway boys" to the best of my knowledge this is the only time they released it. I have a copy but as it is on tape have no way of uploading it (and besides computer is crap) and as you can imagine is not the best sound quality after all these years.

Those demo tapes have been available to download over the years. Unfortunately the person who uploaded them could only host a couple at a time, and I only think one or two fans managed to collect the whole lot digitally. Real Gone Cats is readily available though, and there is even a "cleaned up" version floating around which has the tape hiss removed. I wasn't aware it was a Cheney/Owen song though, it must be a "Gene & Eddie" style tribute track coz it's lyrics are borrowed from various songs!

If you're speaking of AUS Singles, probably Tabloid Magazine... I don't know why. It's never on eBay or in secondhand shops. I finally got on just last week - completed my colllection (minus Trapped and POS UK)

But internationally... it's probably Trapped I guess.
