I love the "new-old" song - thanks so much for that! :D

So here's a stupid question. I was watching the FHOI DVD this morning and I got to thinking - has anyone heard any of the demos for the Roll On sessions? The way Chris and Scott talked about how complicated and all-over-the-place the songs were really intrigued me.

Just wondering if anything like that ever had or ever will surface.

Didn't want to make a new thread about it but my question is:

Who produced the track 'Ready'?

For those who don't know, it's that 0:34 second song and it's off a massive short-song compilation which i've forgotten the name of.

Why can't I get any CD's from HMV/Virgin shops in the UK? I can only get Living End CD's online. My only reasoning is that this band are the worlds best musical secret.

you can, state of emergency isn't out here yet but I have seen it on import. They always put them in the metal or punk section rather than anywhere else though. I see them more in virgin than i do in HMV.
My band is the worlds best musical secret so your theory is sadly incorrect. :)

Some bigger stores do stock releases, mostly MA and SOE, but I'm sure I once saw the double-set of Hellbound/IFYOG.

If they don't have it, take in the details of it (record label etc) and they can probably get it in for you, but because they'll be getting it in as an import, it'll cost more (I saw SOE at £18 when it first came out). Ordering online, either from the official store or from an Aussie music shop, will probably work out cheaper (especially with free postage on the official store at the moment ;) )

How come TLE didn't play stadium shows last year?

Personally, I dread the day when TLE are a 'stadium' rock band.
Sure it'd be great for their hip-pocket, but a good sized festival crowd, is about the most I'd want to see them play to.
TLE excel at small to mid-size shows, but start to lose that all enthralling 'wow' element, the larger the gig - in my experiance...

As for the Rolling Stones gig... While it was great to see them support their idols, they really struggled to win over the crowd. They seemed so tiny on stage. Know what I mean? Usually they come on, and own the stage. Was weird...

Stupid question:

Are Green Day and The Living End actually the same band? Their songs performed on stage by the faces we know, but actually their music is by a group called Milli Vanilli...

I have no idea what you are trying to say but one thing I know The Living End are better then Greenday(sorry if I offend any one) I don't know but I don't think Green Day sounds like TLE well they are in the same pop punk/alternative thing. Some poeple might put it that way.

as in this quote from Scott!

"We were too. By the gay guy. "Oh Homer, you are the living end". That was pretty funny. THREAD.

OK?

And if you look at the tracklisting of TLE singles you will find that there are a number of them that have been recorded live and put onto a CD for you. I'll let you investigate those ones yourself now I've given you a head start.
Gah! My name is not chris, You moron.

And cock head, did you read my question.

To be honest it seems more moronic to me to get angry at someone calling you by what you chose to be your username.
Regardless of whether she read your post properly, the whole point of this thread is to ask questions that don't require a whole thread of discussion and you've been on this forum long enough to know that yet still choose to blantantly ignore the guidelines that have been set.

Singles

SS/POS - Misspent Youth and Strange - both b-sides and both LIVE

WER - Train Kept A-Rollin' and West End Riot - both b-sides and both LIVE

Roll On - Pictures in the Mirror - a b-side and LIVE

Tabloid Magazine - All Torn Down - a b-side and LIVE

Nothing Lasts Forever - What's On Your Radio and Long Live The Weekend - both b-sides and both LIVE

What's On Your Radio Coke Promo - I Can't Give You and WER - both b-sides and both live.

I understand that you're probably after songs that aren't released on an album as well, which does narrow it down some - but do you see my point?

You were after B-sides that have been recorded.

Two questions:

1 - Have Trav and Andy ever met??
2 - Why is it that when they play Carry Me Home, Chris never sings the "It's my shout" part of the "6am it's closing time, the barman turns the lights out/I want another round so bring it on, it's my shout"

May
06-29-2007, 02:45 AM
1. Wouldn't know. Haven't been told so.

2. I always assumed it's because, once you've been kicked out at 6am, you're usually a little tanked, and likely to take on anybody who even blinks atcha... so bring it orrnnnnnnn! haha

un-TLE related question, but: alcohol doesn't freeze does it?

Aaron

Yeah it does. Just at a lower temperature than pure water.

damo0945
07-06-2007, 02:46 AM
so in a standard freezer would it freeze?

Aaron
07-06-2007, 02:51 AM
Bottled alcohol is generally a mix of water, ethanol and flavourings. Pure water freezes at 0°C, pure ethanol (the alcoholic component) at -114°C. Flavourings don't affect it much. A mix that is mostly water (chick drinks :p) will freeze closer to the temp of water, and the hard stuff will freeze closer to that of ethanol. Standard household freezers go down to -18°C, so spirits and stuff definitely won't freeze. Beer probably will.

May
07-06-2007, 03:13 AM
Whether it freezes or not, vodka from a fridge or freezer just makes for a nicer cocktail.
And that's all that really matters here ;)

They're different! Gaffer tape is black and has fibre reinforcement across and along the length of it, whereas duct tape is silvery and sort of stretchy. i've gotten a setlist from every show i've gone to. i ask mr matty while he's setting up if he will give me his at the end, and he always has, thus far. but i've only seen them 3 times so, meh.
i've almost always gotten a pick too, except at the last show. that time they were handing out andy's sticks to whoever was left in the place, and some large 30+ years old woman hipchecked me when the drum tech was handing it to me.

thank goodness for the little shows.

and i always thought gaffer and duct tape were the same thing?

Yes. Gaffer Tape comes in verious colours. But is always identified by it's stringy reinforcement!

i have a question: I have the roundhouse gig on my windows media, but to open it i type a link in, so i just downloaded a new version of windows media player, and i tried watching the roundhouse gig, but i only get audio, no video, so is there anyway to fix that so i can see the video again?

i could be completely wrong....but i think you need a codec to get it to work...maybe

Yup. Codec's sound like the problemo.

Get FFDSHOW codecs. they will help you heaps.

Google K-lite codec pack and install that...it has everything you'll ever need

Is it actually gone now? :(

Yeah the fire caused so much damage that they ended up having to tear it down. RIP the Palace. :(

I don't think the fire had happened when I asked that but yeah, I was there on tuesday and they'd started tearing it down.
