Welcome to the September News from Crucial Music. If you don't wanna know anything about it, please click the link at the bottom of the page and you'll never hear from us again - but we'll know who you are...
---------------------------------------------------------------

CHILDREN COLLIDE finally kicked off their huge Chosen Armies Tour over the weekend. With SOLD OUT shows in Ballarat, Melbourne & Hobart, things are truly hotting up on stage for the guys after their recent but short break from the road. Check out a review from The Corner Hotel here.

The band will continue destroying stages and crowds in various parts of the country all through September. With the Gaelic Club already SOLD OUT, we strongly recommend you get in quick for tickets. As always all dates below.

Some other very exciting news is that Children Collide's Skeleton Dance is part of the soundtrack for the much anticipated upcoming FIFA 10 game. The good folks at EA Games are just as excited about this as we are, so excited in fact that we're working together to give away a free MP3 and a chance to win tickets to Chosen Armies dates! Check it all out here.

Plus, for those lucky cats pre-ordering the FIFA 10 game via JB Hi-Fi, we have a free Children Collide, The Long Now album sampler to give away. To get things rolling on that front the band will be doing an exclusive in-store performance at JB Hi-Fi Bourke St, Melbourne to help launch the game. Block off October 1st for that one, more info on timings to come!

First the first time, Children Collide have been shortlisted for Channel [V]'s annual Oz Artist Award. Oz Artist is a 100% fan voted award, with the Top 50 being narrowed down to the Top 4 live on Channel [V] this coming Saturday (September 12th) Stay tuned, it just might be the year for CC. If you feel compelled to vote for Children Collide, you can do that here.

GYROSCOPE are just days away from taking off to Wales to get cracking on album #4 with the very legendary Gil Norton. The guys have been honing the many tunes they have written for this record and are both pleased and very excited about that lies ahead.

The guys managed to take time out of the studio and get onto the stage for the first time in a while late last month, playing with End of Fashion & Young Revelry at The Paddo in Perth to launch local music news site www.wordonthestreet.com.

WA Today caught up with Brad & Zok before The Paddo show and got some exclusive live footage for your viewing pleasure. Check it out here.

In the last installment of the Crucial News we mentioned the new Gyroscope blog site. The band have been busy working on it, along with updating their Twitter page with photos directly from the studio. They will keep this up, so if you want a first hand look at what is going on with Gil & the guys in Wales, hit up www.gyroscope.com.au or www.twitter.com/gyroscopemusic

THE LIVING END are have just arrived back home from their third foray to Europe for 2009. This time around they took over stages from Belgium to Wales, not to mention two huge main stage sets at the Leeds & Reading festivals in the UK.

The TLE crew were kind enough to get some quick snaps from the shows. Below are a couple to peak your interest. There is plenty more where that came from, a full photo blog from their European trip will be up on The Living End website & Myspace soon. [Excited :p]

TLE have also been included in the Top 50 for the 2009 Channel [V] Oz Artist Award. In 2008 TLE claimed a place in the Top 4, here's hoping they can take out the #1 this year! Check out all info on Oz Artist at: http://www.vmusic.com.au/#/ozartist

So...it's good to see Europe is getting so much TLE love, and that they've been getting main-stage sets at festivals over there, and the pictures so far are sweet, but...

They're never coming back to North America again, are they? They've been touring up a storm for a while now, and it almost seems like they've hit EVERY place but.....I mean, I know it's a ridiculous, totally expensive trip with a 23-hour (or something) flight that totally fucks up their sleep/time schedules and takes them inconveniently far away from home for long periods of time, especially now that some of them are now fathers.....

BUT GOD DAMMIT I NEED MY FIX!!!! *grinds teeth and slinks away to put on his Roll On vinyl and scratch wildly*

all of them are now fathers and some of them are twice the fathers. so North America won't get any shows until all those kids turn 18...:)
but to be honest, for them flight to Europe is longer than 23 hours and probably as expensive as flight to US.

Plus, the US have had a massive run over the years..Europe, not so much, so its about time.

I wouldn't be surprised if they end up being received better in Europe compared to the US.

Actually, it must bother you because you, as well as me, are now responsible for making boys feel satisfied after seeing fans' huge support in Europe.

Doesn't bother me any :)

It must bother you to some degree, considering you're travelling to another country to see them because there aren't any US/Canadian gigs happening ;)

That's the only thing, no gigs.

But I like small gigs so if they stay wittle-ish over here it makes me happy ^-^

On the SOE tour of the US, I saw them two dates in a row in New York. The first one was on Long Island, where I live, and it was at a tiny bar in a shopping center. The place wasn't even full, and it felt more like watching a rehearsal...some people might get excited about something like that because it's "intimate", but it just made me angry because they deserve better, and there wasn't enough crowd energy to feed off of and get some craziness going. The only real advantage was that they were taking requests because people could be heard so clearly, and during one of them (Monday) a bunch of us hopped up on stage and were handed the mics for the "Monday...it seems like such a lieeeeeeeee!" outro which was of course awesome.

The next date was at the Knitting Factory in NYC, also a relatively small club, but it was packed to the gills with diehard fans and is a great venue, and that was one of the best times I have seen them. The funny thing was, being the crowd pleasers they are, they had changed the setlist, taking out Carry Me Home to swap in Monday, which is what they had done by request the night before. But I saw the setlist, so I got my friends to yell out "Carry me Home!!" along with me when the time came, and Chris started to get so confused like what the fuck do you guys want from us?? But they played it!!!

So, in closing, it's fun seeing them at small venues, but not TOO small. And the fact that they're not a huge draw has a lot to do with their sparse appearances in this country over the past few years so...GET BIGGAAAA
