I've been looking for a while too, but to no avail.. The only stuff I can find is online and overseas and expensive even without postage.
As have I. There have been a few pairs on ebay but I always manage to forget about them when I finally find one the right size.

You could always just buy some material and get them made

If you don't look at the right time you can't find tartan ANYWHERE. But Autumn is the right time to take a trip to spotlight, I'm gonna have to do so haha.
a shop called 'dotti' used to sell tartan shorts and skirts, but they update their stuff nearly every 3 weeks

Random fact: My Pa lived in Scotland til after he finished serving in the second world war :)
At my primary school we got to wear kilts as part of the school uniform. Any kilt we wanted. It was pretty rad.

We wore stuff underneath :p Kilts are cool!
I saw a couple of pairs online somewhere not long ago, can't remember where though. It was probably just ebay.

pretty sure Utopia had some last time i was there... (which was awhile ago)
but they seem to have that sort of stuff often.
I dont know if theres a Utopia where you live though?
I'm pretty sure I saw some plaid shit last time I went past Dotti and Lolita. Dunno if there were pants, but the plaidness caught my eye.
Otherwise try Clegs ($) to get some plaid fabric. Spotlight and Lincraft havent had any Stewart tartan for ages.
Thankfully I have a shitload in the caravan, so plaid items are never a worry for moi! :P

Ahhh, lincraft! I forgot about them! Tassie got rid of that stores years ago and left us with just Spotlight.
Alina, I'd say that your best bet is to make them. It saves wasting time trying to find some in a store somewhere. :)
Like these? (http://www.blackrose.co.uk/index.php?leaf=N48K)
And these? (http://www.attitude.uk.com/moreinfo.asp?id=112TGR&menu=PUNK&page=4&type=)
I'll order them and post 'em over (probably cheaper than they would) offer if you want, so long as you reimburse me like.

Awww, that's so nice of you to offer! I really like the ones without all the zippage but honestly, that's way out of my price range, for now anyway....
Nope, no Utopias down here, what is that-like a store where every item of clothing is perfect?

Spotlight does indeed have some good plaids in... but if you're a non-sewer.... (haha. Sewer as in sewing is written exactly like sewer.. as in the bodily waste kind.)

I'm sure I could scrounge up a sewing friend though, if i tried, which I will
