Living End meets The Coffin Nails, well one of them!

The Living End and Steve 'Humungous' Clarke of Psychobilly band The Coffin Nails, it turns out that Scott and Chris used to cover the Nails song 'Uncle Willy' in their early days. It was a cool meeting! Reading 2009. Mike Davies played both bands back to back on his Radio One Punk Rock Show last this week and two weeks ago, that's when I remembered the photo so thought I'd share it with you all.

I've never been able to work out many of the words to their version of Uncle Willy (and what I did come up with was ridiculous! :p), and I had no idea who sang it, so now I might do a bit of google research :p

ive got 2 live recordings of the runaway boys playing it, but back at home in sydney and im in the middle east.

chorus goes something like 'uncle will got drunk last night, down by the pub, egetrhrh poor uncle willy' ???? - or something like that yeah ??

I haven't heard the song, and this is a bit late...but just from that one lyrical snippet, doesn't it kinda seem like TLE were ripping off this song when they did "Uncle Harry"?
