I know the forum has gone weird. Just as I was typing in the final new 'pip' name it froze up. Every attempt to go back in does the same thing. I have no idea why - I didn't hit any weird buttons. Might have to wait for Woody to have a look in the morning.

It's anyone one that "LEVEL" of posts...which i think is the "No Way Out" level which has somehow been rooted and mashed with others.

No Way Out was the FINAL pip I entered - it's for 20000 posts, not 34 or whatever. I hit enter and got a white screen and locked up. The only thing different on that final pip was - (ie all previous ones were just words, the final one was no way out - forum god). I can't get back in there and I already reset everything and it didn't work.

Maintenance: Repair/Optimize tables??? Anyone know what that is?

I don't know what that is but i don't think it'll fix the problem.


Is there another admin account you can log in under?

I dunno...i'm running out of ideas.

Now I'm really confused. I was able to reset and start again. Then I redid the pips successfully. Usually after that, I have to Update User Titles and Ranks: DONE. Theoritically it should now be okay, but it's not

Maybe you should do it one step at a time.

Keep saving as you go and see if it works out. That way when/if it stuffs up again you can identify the actual action that has caused any problem.

OK, for NOW the only option is to go through and find the users with the nowayout posts and edit them back to 1 post count so we can at least get around here whilst I figure it out.

Ahh that sucks....

You might end up having to find out from the people who make the board what file holds the data for PIP titles, so you or Woody can manually edit that configuration file...coz it sounds from what you've said that the board software won't let you change it through admin panel.

Like Mel said, sorry for you not being able to get into that other thread. Do we (as in the people who's post counts got reset) have to keep under a certain amount of posts for a while so it doesn't do it again?

Edit: Ahh, I see. So we need to stay under 10 posts?

I can't fix it automatically at all. I've reset EVERYTHING and that pip shouldn't exist anymore, yet every poster with a count of 10-50 gets the error. With the youth of this board, that's almost everyone! I'll do what I can to manually fix - everyone with those counts is being reset to 1 post count for now so at least the board moves

Yeah - but it's gonna be impossible for people to stay under 10. I just did a test, and reset mine back to 1. Then reset back to 13 and sure enough it went wacky again.

Not sure what went wrong. I was changing the pip posts and just as I hit enter for the last one it froze up and put continuous repeated text in for anyone with a post count of 10-50 (ie most people) which killed the memory. Weird thing is that I was editing the title for 20,000 posts but it somehow went into the 10-50 count and froze up - I couldn't get back into admin to fix. Thankfully all sorted now. Phew.

Everyone that temp. had their posts reset back to 1 so we could keep moving around the forum have now had their counts readjusted back. I wrote down what your counts were before I reset them.

I like having song names on this board rather than having the things on the last board because song names don't label you as a noobie or old poster on the boards or they don't really show how many post counts you have.
