This Saturday Afternoon drag the gang down to the Route 66 Prahran megastore and glue your eyeballs to pinstriper extraordinaire Ben 'Bad Boy' Lander dropping some mad ball pinstripe paint action.

The Perth paint lickin 'WUNDERKIND' will be demo painting up a 60's style metal flake motorbike helmet to show you his style and flair then we'll let him loose on whatever you bring.

From 1pm bring beer and assorted cars and motorbikes, fridge doors, little brothers, bowling balls ,Ming dynasty vases or anything else you think will go faster with a hot lil' bit o' pinstripe action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off to the Greyhound to see em on Saturday week.....should be a riot. They are playing at the Tote on Sunday after the R66 instore as well. See how i'm feeling and how the finances are before i decide to go or not.

most of my 15 year old guitar students play better than stu. So its fair for me to comment a guitarist of his calibure and 20 years of playing Crap. I think my comments are quite fair. If they didnt have makeup or the clothes I guarentee they would be nothing and wouldnt be where they are now.

It kinda hurts to hear shit like that about the ZGT boys. I can't really speak for Recklesss as i only talk to him at gigs... although he's nice as anything there... but Stu is a fucking legend, i dunno what sort of run ins you've had.

And as for the makeup and clothes... I strongly strongly disagree. I got into the music way before I actually knew who the people BEHIND it were and I know I'm not alone when I say it's brilliant stuff. I'm not going to go into it, but I am still in awe every time I listen.

Ive just jumped in on the tail end and I know there is another forum dedicated to opinions on ZGT....BUT please do not post personal attack on people. Yeah ok they might be assholes to deal with as far as the business side goes I wouldnt know I have heard some stuff about that side but it was their manager causing the greif not them. But hey thats their bread and butter and if you were in the same position you may do the same. Its their livelyhood we are talking about and its a dog eat dog world out there. If you want to make it anywhere you have to be ruthless and fight for it.
Personally I think the boys are fab a very close friend has been mates with Stu for years and everytime I have seen him he has been nothing but fantastic and what he gives back to the people who enjoy his music is second to none. Most bands have nothing to do with the crowd.
As far as Aaron (reckless) please dont badmouth him he is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and I have all the time in the world for him. He is a very dedicated musician and I take my hat off to him every time he takes the stage as most people who have to cope with what he does wouldnt be half as curagious (sorry know its spelt wrong). There arnt many people who I admire but he is one.

Azzy was loads of fun too but yes he has flown the coop so lets leave him outta this.

This is my opinion and I know some of you wont agree and thats fine as if we all liked the same things it would be a very boring world. If you dislike their music fine I probably dont like some of the stuff you listen to and most of you wouldnt like my taste in music. But please lay off the personal stuff. Its not nice to judge others based on rumour and second hand info.

Voodoo Kreepers were just FUCK YEAH... I ain't missing THEIR next melbourne show for anything! That's what I like ta see... a band with a sense of humour, amazing talent, kickass tunes and a Jack Daniels bass with a horse headstock with flashing eyes... they had it all!
Wes Pudsey was okay, I had a blast but they're not the most unique of bands.
And yeah... hacky sack was mighty fine idea... :p

i'd just like to comment on how stupid it really is for a overpriced clothing store to have music instores.

I reckon it's great.
They bring good bands from Australia.
It isn't like you're ordinary instore..
instead of going to one and pretty much standing there and knowin 2 other people.
Everyone pretty much knows eachother.
Great for catchin up with friends, who live..say on the other side of town.

That's my view anyway.

I live for those instores... they are easily one of my favourite things in the world; the atmosphere, the music, the people, the food, the fun... just everything.

and the band normally has a long as set...

yeah they still do 'em periodically.... but its usually these mega awesome waaaaay underrated bluesy/rockin' sorta bands that no one seems to have ever heard of, and the shop doesn't really bother with promoting much.
Went into the city store today to check out the closing sale. Pretty sad, I've practically grown up with Route 66 in the background... corny as that is.
