TLE Covers Challenge

Ok so I'm thinking we need something new in this here forum to excite us all like the Klonel thread did sooooooooooooooooo....

I propose this, that we as a group, try and make a complete series of TLE covers, so a cover of every song that they have released, and really i think this task is completely possible, and a really cool sort of group project for us to work at

now i know that there is already a TLE covers thread but i think this should be in a different one .

oh and i think we should implement these rules.

1) Positive / Constructive comments only - no one likes a douchebag, and not everyone on here is as good at guitar as you

2) NO DOUBLE UPS! - once someone has covered a song, its off the list and we move on to the other songs

3) One cover per week - People have limited time to play and record a cover, so i think its only fair that we give those people a chance to take part and not have all the easy or good songs taken before they get a chance.

got a digital camera that does Video? thats all i'll be using... and it might even end up being the Mini amp just because i can do it when others are home :)

yeah, that will work. :) just make sure you use the line in, and not the mic in on the comp. ;)

i think I'll have to go to my mate's house and do it there. he's got a wicked acoustic, and uses protools. might do some double tracking and a midi backing track too...

Ooh thanks for the ideas.. ;) Closing In is a bit advanced for my handy work I reckon. :wacko: Prob just use my Cole Clark to do this but now you've got me thinking about the 12 String.

At the moment it looks like I'll have to record it on my phone so it will be rough rough meow...

We should collaborate on a couple over the net!
Get someone to lay down drum tracks, send to bassist, who sends to guitarist(s), who sends to vocalist(s). Each recording their parts as they go, and someone mixes at the end.

buy a lightsnake, and pira- i mean buy a copy of guitar rig. The audio quality isnt THAT great, but it beats a webcam mic. probs 1 week for the cable to get to you. and with guitar rig being awesome, heaps of amp models. do it.

Im just using a ts9 tubescreamer. It works but it can get really messy and ear bleeding so i have to keep the gain way down.

i would like to highly reccomend a paul c. TIM or TIMMY pedal to replace that TS. they are fucking awesome if yourve got a great guitar/amp combo, which you definately do!

Yeah I couldn't get my Hotrod Deluxe and TS9 to bond nicely so I know what you mean. I can't really think of any suggestions at the mo sorry, but I have heard that they take pedals well, so maybe it's just a case of having a look around and seeing what other people are putting in front of their twins.

Oh yep. Most of it was from the power tab version of it on ultimate guitar, just exported it to guitar pro, along with some of it by ear, and some from version two on UG :)

Sounds great with an acoustic in it, AND pumps out music like a BOSS. I've used it at parties countless times. OH and I have a PA system in the shed... I could use that too :laugh: DONE!

Hey Hey Disbeliever wasnt too bad, but it was the first cover ive ever done recording myself so needles to say i was kinda uncomfortable and made a fair few mistakes because of it. i was also a bit "meh" about the tone (as meh as you can get about a Tenny > Wizard > 2 cabs anyway) so i turned up a bit to get some more clarity, which made the volume for Read About It overload the camera, but its still watchable, but pretty distorted at times.

For some reason after that i decided to turn up my amp yet again, meaning that End of the World was completely unwatchable. just SHCHHCHSHCHSHSHHSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the entire video haha.

i might upload Disbeliever and Read about it if i cant be bothered to re-record, but ill redo end of the world later... yep... thats how i spent my "830 this morning while mum drove Riley to school".
