THE SADDEST THING I KNOW - THE SINGLE
Today, Thursday 25th March 2010, Birds of Tokyo would like to present you with the first taste of their third studio record.
A song titled THE SADDEST THING I KNOW.

Recorded as adventurously as it was written, creating the new album has already taken Birds Of Tokyo across the globe – recording in Sydney, Gothenburg, London and New York – but as the saying goes, there’s no place like home, and the boys are excited to be able to give their Australian fans the first taste of all things new.

And as lead single, The Saddest Thing I Know is Birds Of Tokyo at their incendiary best... a crack to the jaw powered by monster-sized riffs and spine-tingling melodies. A song with big enough balls to lead an entire album.
Tune into the triple j Afternoon Show with THE DOCTOR from 3pm today to hear the latest offering from Birds of Tokyo and a word with the bands guitarist and co-prodcuer of the forthcoming album Adam Spark.

....and then there's the Australian tour....

THE SADDEST THING I KNOW - THE TOUR
It has been an epic journey, yielding epic results, and Birds Of Tokyo are back home from recording their third album, and ready to hit the road.

Armed with their brand new single, The Saddest Thing I Know, Birds Of Tokyo will be performing throughout May and June across Australia, showcasing tracks from their forthcoming album, plus all of the fan favourites from the their Day One and Gold-selling Universes albums.

Joining Birds Of Tokyo on this tour are Midnight Youth - a band armed with a slab or radio hit, awards and stellar reviews in their native New Zealand - they're ready to wake-up Australia.

The Saddest Thing I Know Tour - Plugged in and turned up to 10, this will be Birds Of Tokyo at their most ferocious.

I love that they always play at the unibar. Great venue! :D
now to decide if i want to photo and then watch or just go and watch. Having photos of Ian Kenny is very tempting :p

Gah! Tonight's gig was AMAZING.

There was confusion with me taking photos, but was allowed to anyway. Didn't have the right lens with me, but did an ok job I guess.

Played all the "hit songs" plus some new tracks from the new album - can't wait until the end of July!!

I am even more in love with Ian Kenny. And his dance moves :p

New tour was announced tonight! :D

They're playing with Silversun Pickups around September-ish. I can't remember if it starts earlier than that. Pretty big tour from what I heard (on Triple J's '2010' show).

Also, a new song was played but I only heard the very end, so I don't know if I like it :p

I didnt order a vinyl, I might still grab one down the track.

My CD came yesterday, and I'm a bit half half about it.
I just wish it had some faster rocky numbers. but the ones that are there are all really great songs.
the dvd it came with is pretty awesome too :)

Mine came yesterday too. I haven't had time to watch the DVD yet. Might do that tonight.

I quite like the album though. I think i'll get into it more after a few more listens :)
