I'm a massive TLE fan and have been for years but have never seen them live. I bet they'd be quality and am after tickets. Anybody know of any rumours about them coming to England at any point in the near future?
Cheers.
Hey there, make sure you sign up to the mailing list here: http://www.thelivingend.com/2006/signup.html (if you haven't already). You'll be the first to know of any tour dates in your area!

And to answer the question asked: no chance of them coming anytime soon.
They were there last year and did some shows with the Dropkick Murphy's. I don't think that there will be any more overseas gigs for them this year.
Sorry!
But sign up to the mailing list, like suggested and you will be up to date! :D

If i had to guess.......the most obvious thing would be that they are on leeds/Reading, T in The Park, Glastonbury or one of those big UK Festivals.
Hopefully they get a big enough following over there that they can play Slaine Castle in Ireland..... I'd get on a plane for that! :D

here's hoping it's surprising in a there will be some dates way rather then a we hate england and we're never coming back kind of way!
This is the right time of year for announcing bands for Donington (which is in June) so they could be on the bill there with some headline shows. Could also be Reading / Leeds in August, Mike Davies is a fan and there's a Radio 1 Punk Show stage for 2 of the 3 days, not sure how much input he gets into who plays on it but looking at past line ups there's always a few bands on there that look like his choices. Can't see them coming all this way just to do a festival so does this mean there's going to be some headline shows as well?
I guess if it's not one of those festivals then it's either got to be another big support or a headline tour.

Donnington? What the hell? The Living End at a metal festival? Dunno 'bout that!

Yes - surprising in a 'we didn't think that would be happening this year' kinda way. TLE LOVE England. News will come soon.

@Rae: Are they only playing the UK again or will there be some other gigs around Europe? Otherwise I 'd fly back to the UK just like in November.. :D

don't see why they couldn't. This year Reel Big Fish are headlining one of the stages and Bowling For Soup are on just before Machine Head so i don't see any reason tle couldn't play.

Stolen from a Crucial Music MySpace bulletin:
The Living End boys have been hunting around the dark and dank industrial zones of Melbourne for a warehouse/studio to settle into for the next six months to being work on their 5th album. The process will be interrupted for a short time when they head off to England (dates announced shortly) in support for the upcoming release of STATE OF EMERGENCY in the UK, Germany, France etc...

Upcoming release?
Isn't the album over a year old now?
*edit*
haha if TLE played Donnington before a big metal band they'd get booed to the shitter and back

Self titled and Roll On didn't get US releases until at least a year after they were put out here (dunno how I can remember back that far but hey thats how I remember it) and Modern ARTillery maybe a tad longer.
Those parts of Europe would be pretty fertile ground for the band to release stuff I imagine although there'd be all those Die Toten Hosen fans ;)
Anyway, makes sense to wait a while before releasing it elsewhere.
I hope for the sake of our Eastern European friends (Amur and Mad twins) that Russia gets a look in for the release and or/tour!

Considering last year Trivium and Metallica (?) were the headliners. Metal is back on the rise.
It's all like the metalcore American scene like Lamb of God etc that will be playing Donnington in future
I can't imagine the likes of Jawn and also the little girls participating in this:

Don't think there's enough metal bands to fill the bill to be honest, when donington used to be 1 day with 5-6 bands it was no problem, but 3 days with 3 stages they need to find around 100 bands to play without repeating too much from year to year.

I heard from Yvonne that they're planning a UK tour soon to coincide with the UK release of SOE.
No idea what/where they're playing though.

looks like the tour wil be late aug early sept as they're main support on the lock up stage at reading / leeds, not sure if it's the day that's being headlined by jimmy eat world or new found glory tho.
i hope when they tour they don't just hit a couple of cities and think that covers it like a lot of overseas bands do. It's funny that bands like Reel Big Fish and Bowling For Soup are now playing bigger venues than bands like Sum 41 (who at one point were doing arenas). It's all down to the fact that they come over and do 15-20 date tours 2 or 3 times a year to cover the whole country.

cost-wise I think it would be stupid to fly to Europe just for a couple of shows. I still can't believe they did that in 2003 too when they played in London (and I didn't go, d'oh!).

Has there been any confirmation that TLE will play Reading/Leeds? They're not on the line-up poster (http://www.readingfestival.com/images/pix/lineup_may.jpg) as of now.
No confirmation, but strong rumour, especially seeing as they're here at the right time!

it seems at the moment the bands on the lock up aren't being officially announced. think this is because new found glory are supposed to be headlining but are also on warped and will only pull warped to do reading / leeds if a suitable replacement can be found for them on the warped tour.

It's been said by the Festival organisers that the Lockup Stage will be formally announced mid-June.
